Interesting dodge of the question. I'll ask again would you hurt someone if you couldn't get caught and it was of great benefit to you?
Do you mean much like the Spaniards did to the America's with the enslaving and looting?

Your church needs to return what it stole before claiming the moral high ground.

They'd have nothing left, where do you
think everything came from. Passing the
plate to poor people on Sundays?

my lack of belief in any gods is a consequence of my moral value system.

What possible value system could lead anyone not to believe in God? How can you have a moral system with things that are truly right or wrong without God?

Another interesting dodge of the question and now a misdirection. The fact is the Church has given and continues to give more than any other organization in the world. Think for a moment to add up all the ministries of all the Churches, all the orphanages, all the hospitals, universities, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, AIDS hospices, nursing homes, senior living centers, etc., etc. I wonder how many times over each year the Church gives back more than any ill gotten accumulated wealth by men who sinfully went against Christ's teachings.

Aw, go answer some questions yourself.

I guess I missed the question altogether? I wasn't trying to dodge anything. Are you trying to control all the variables of a discussion?

If you are talking about me personally, I try, I really try to find the good.

I realize you need to take the position you do, and I try not to see the misery that your organization has forced upon innocent people and it makes me cringe. A few hundred years ago and your church would have the the non conforming members here in prison.

Here you go again trying to claim the high ground and not acknowledge all that were killed and enslaved for your cause. It happened, if your church wants credibility and to gain membership, you are going to have to at least apologize.

Did I understand earlier that you said that the Catholic orphanage closed because the government dropped aid for your adoption agency?

A logical one. You just don't decide to not
believe in god, it's not really a question,
is it. You realize one day that you don't.
It's a shrug your shoulders realization,
like not believing in alien abductions.
Big deal, no god. Life goes on.

Most of the Church's vast wealth came from
every unethical source possible. It's an amazing
story of the unparalleled greed and avarice of
the Church for over a thousand years. It's got
nothing to do with Jesus at all, and everything
to do with wealth and power.

http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/vatican/vatican_billions.htm

So you give now, big deal. All the wealthy robber
barons did it, you get so much you have no choice
but to be philanthropic. Quit trying to make a big
deal out of it.

I did a quick search and I would have thought it easier to get an idea of how much the Catholic church makes?

This from 2000, http://humansarefree.com/2012/03/christian-church-is-biggest-financial.html They are bigger than Standard Oil.

At one time [and maybe still] they were the largest corporation in the world.

I remember researching this 25 years ago
before I had a computer. The financial
history of the Church is a marvel, they
got wealth from every source possible,
most of it by chicanery and outright
theft. They were and are frighteningly wealthy,
most of it in property and investments.

How they got it would make a fantastic
movie that will never be made. It's what
turned me against them, this is bringing
back a lot of memories. Men of god, what
a joke.
