What is shallow and disingenuous is you continuing to construct a type of Catholic boogeyman or better strawman. To reiterate the Church does not call our homosexual brothers and sisters sinful. We do not call their lives and very existence sinful!!! They are not excluded and not treated with condescension and contempt.

And yet this is what some Catholics, some
of them clergy, have to say:

"The Roman Catholic Church is bigoted, misogynistic, controlling, judgmental, outdated and pharisaical – in the view of some its own most devoted members, according to an unprecedented official snapshot of opinion in the pews revealed by Britain’s most senior Catholic cleric."

What do you call closing an orphanage rather
than putting a kid with Gay parents. That's
bigotry on parade.

I call it being a victim of persecution and an attack on religious freedom.

Please get your facts straight these adoption agencies were denied licenses or needed funds to continue their work because they preferred to put children in homes with married mothers and fathers. They couldn't stay open, they were not allowed. What do you call that?

The job is to put them with loving human
parents. The bigotry of the Church prevented
that when the couple was same sex. Of
course you don't see it as bigotry, bigots seldom
do.

I call it looking for the best, healthy home for the kid. Many regular couples get turned down for adoption for various reasons as well.

You still keep using that word, really, it does not mean what you think it means.

They were bigoted against Gay parents
and were punished for it, as they should
have been.

"Most of the Catholic Charities affiliates in Illinois are closing down rather than comply with a new requirement that says they can no longer receive state money if they turn away same-sex couples as potential foster care and adoptive parents."

The times are changing, the Church can
no longer do as it pleases, discriminate
against whoever they don't like and get
away with it, all under their perverted
definition of 'love'. Their hypocrisy is
being driven underground and out of
sight.

Who? The priest who wanted to have a gay boyfriend even though priests have to take a celibacy vow? If they do not like it they should quit as they do not understand the term, either.

OTOH I could make a comment about your comments on the church and religion using the same words but do not feel it would do much to help the issue.

Look at your own article itself. It says nothing at all about what the clergy say. It was about a survey that the Vatican asked every diocese in the world to participate in by allowing the faithful to voice their opinions about Church teaching. There were some that saw the Church's teaching as you do and many others who did not. If you collate the results with those who regularly go to Mass and those who really understand the Church's true teaching it is very interesting to see where some of those frustrated answers come from. I know you don't like details but you should really pay attention to them. Here is a very good quote from the Cardinal quoted in your link:
“What we’ve got is a lively, passionate family and we have our arguments and we have our different points of view and that’s fine because we a shared Lord and we have the places where we meet. And it’s very important that we learn more about how to make everybody welcome in those places.”

By the way thanks boybimbo and AZ for your recent posts.

You've been doing that in this thread all along.

Suppose you went around calling Jews "Christ-killers" at every opportunity, and also called for tolerance. That's what you do every time with LGBT people, but won't even admit it.
As for your last point, you've been treating me with nothing but condescension and contempt, dismissing every fact or opinion you mislike with a non-sequitur or a feeble attempt at wit.

If you, not someone else but you, are an example of what a Christian ought to be, then I'd rather be burned at the stake than worship the monster that led you to be this way.

You can afford to. You're not the target of mistreatment, ridicule, violence or discrimination at every level.

A homosexual in a committed monogamous relationship who falls and has sex is not nearly as bad as a man who is in a relationship with a woman and sleeps around with all kind of other women.

This is an example of a Christian not calling LGBT people sinful.

Remember it. It's important.
