Quite the opposite. I deplore bad research, or research that tells me something that a 5 year old could figure out without 'research'. I think AZ's points are all fair in that post.

Really? How many children would guess a heavier ball would reach the ground before a lighter one when dropped. Even Aristotle got that wrong.

Duffman often thinks he knows things are obvious without real testing. Pure human folly.

I'd say that SOOPOO lived a little bit below his means during his career so that he could retire and live comfortably.

That's a good thing.

I can absolutely assure you that my drinks/eating out will exceed $400 a month substantially. In the Villages, golf is much less, as the courses are close to free, some actually are free. Knowing my wife, Landscaping will exceed $100 logarithimically.

I didn't think you meant the entire cost for me to live, just costs related to the house. Put in jewelry, shoes, and clothes and you get to a FAR bigger number!

On the flip side as I retire
Would not surprise me if I spend some nights in a Walmart parking lot :-)

Ed, I could do what you are going to do... but I would need a base to come 'home' to. Its 38 and rainy here today.... 87 and sunny in The Villages. I just made a tee time for Wednesday.... forecast is 51 and sunny. If you make it up to Buffalo I'll take you to Hickory Stick.... casino owned golf course.

I have a 6:30am tee time tomorrow and it should be 72 degrees at that time. Sadly it is supposed to be windy.

Yeah, but it's a nasty cloying 'I can't
breathe' humid 87, where you
sweat thru your clothes by the
3rd hole. Been there, no thanks.

I've golfed in 100+ in Vegas. And rarely also that "cloying I can't breathe humid 87" as well. Both are better than 50 degrees and sloggy course in Buffalo. I think I will love to golf early, finish up and sit in my lanai having an espresso martini periodically jumping in the pool. Then go out and way overspend for a nice dinner with my gorgeous wife. I'm looking forward to that being my new normal.

All the times I've played, we rarely went without renting a cart. But I don't ever remember being too hot and wanting to quit.
