Anyone that cares about the outcomes of an election is ridiculous. Over time it all averages out. It makes no difference to me who wins. Over 1000 years it will all balance out. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a detrrent. |

Nope. People have written books on how the primaries are the most important part of the election process. How you do in them is the only 'poll' that counts till the election. For instance, Biden came in 5th in NH. Nobody has ever won the presidency coming in 5th in NH. Kamal-Toe's internal polling was so dismal she dropped out before the primaries even started. Her unlikability factor was off the charts. And then there's Trump. Nobody talks about him shattering past voter turnout records for incumbents. And they don't have to vote, he's the only one on the ticket. But they turned out in record numbers giving Trump a win nobody has ever seen for an incumbent. For instance, he got 3 times the votes in NH that Obama got in 2012. “I don’t remember any uncontested primary campaign for a sitting president like this,” Stony Brook University professor Helmut Norpoth told The Post. “People don’t normally turn out in large numbers for a race without a challenger. In 23 of the 27 states that held primaries both this year and in 2012, when President Obama ran for re-election, Trump has racked up higher raw vote totals than Obama did — often doubling or tripling his predecessor’s numbers. His primary vote totals also beat President George W. Bush’s in 2004. Some of the numbers are staggering. Like GA, where Trump got over 4 times the votes Obama got in 12. Why did people turn out when they didn't have to? Why do you think. So when people say the primaries don't matter, they're actually about the only thing before the election that do matter. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

They guy who carried empty suitcases to look like he was carrying his own stuff? I was surprised that his SS team said he was generally disliked and a mean guy in person. The President is a fink. |

Carter didn't trust anybody but himself to make good decisions. He had to micromanage every aspect of his presidency because he thought he was the only capable person in his admin. Worst president ever. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Pacomartin Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 1068 Posts: 12569 | The Great Famine started with bad weather in spring 1315. Crop failures lasted through 1316 until the summer harvest in 1317, and Europe did not fully recover until 1322. Crop failures were not the only problem; cattle murrains caused sheep and cattle numbers to fall as much as 80%. The period was marked by extreme levels of crime, disease, mass death, and even cannibalism and infanticide. The story of "Hansel and Gretel" resulted from children being abandoned in the Great Famine The Great Famine was followed by the Black Death which peaked in Europe from 1347 to 1351. The Black Death was the deadliest pandemic recorded in human history. The Black Death resulted in the deaths of up to 75–200 million and killed 30% to 60% of Europe's population. Fortunately, the period of suffering was usually months instead of years like the Great Famine. Leaving natural causes of deaths and moving to wars and conquests, these resulted in the highest number of deaths in the last millenium
From the above examples, 1000 years certainly balances out a lot of things. Europeans only started repeatable voyages to the Western Hemisphere 528 years ago. It's been 244 years since the Declaration of Independence. Any takers on the US existing for 1000 years? |

The USA will not exist in 50 years. Mankind will go extinct in 1000. The President is a fink. |
