Oh no, I meant it's a hoax because it's been blown waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of proportion. If NYC wants to destroy itself, that's fine with me. But in other places such as Fresno County, there have only been FIVE deaths. No need to destroy their economy. More people die from car accidents, yet I don't see anybody giving up their cars. 🙄

Ok. Cogent thought. Then say it has been blown out of proportion. Don't say it is a hoax.

NYC does NOT want to destroy itself. What don't you understand about not having a hospital bed to put an extremely sick patient in? Without the steps taken there would be tens of thousands more to be left dying at home or on the streets. At some time, hopefully soon, New Yorkers will be dying at a rate that some will find acceptable, and their economy will open up. I absolutely agree with you that other areas might be able to open up sooner and more fully.

Been there twice, was miserable
both times. Looked to me they
had destroyed themselves long
ago. Why anybody would live
there on purpose is a mystery.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Everyone understands that, it is just that people should also focus on the causes for that situation and on the demographics profile of the sick patient. The patient may have to pay for a politician's inaction. Remember, this is a Lifeboat Ethics situation and not all people in the lifeboat are equal. As in ANY triage situation decision making is skewed from it would be under conditions of leisure and plentiful resources.

Hahaha, this is amazing. Watch Paula Reid hold Donny accountable for his slow response to the pandemic (aka insisting that it would magically go away throughout the entire month of February):

Donny doesn’t like hearing the truth on live TV. Flounders about, calls her names, screams fake news, brings up Biden (LOL!!).

(Sorry, the only YouTube channel that had posted the clip so far is run by some right wing monster.)

Cumulative US deaths as of March 31: 3,806
Cumulative US deaths as of April 13: 23,621

Which means that so far in the month of April, there were 19,815 deaths in the US.

That's an average of 1,524 deaths per day in April.

And your point is? Throwing that number out with no context, you must have learned that from the MSM. Is it bigger when it is high lited? The average number of deaths per day in the US in 2017 was 7708.

Sorry dude, it's not killing enough people for you compared to deaths from all causes. We'll try to do better.

Perhaps the fairest way to compare countries is to look at the death rate per coronavirus as measured each day, to the expected death rate for the country. The expected death rate takes into account the age and health of the country and makes heavy use of historical data.

The worst-hit country, Spain, is seeing the coronavirus increase the expected death rate by 4.6%, while other countries are around 1% (including Sweden which did not issue stay at home quarantine).

Germany has the highest expected death of the five countries shown but has so far experiencing the lowest coronavirus death rate of the five. The expected death rate has been increased by only 0.3%

Death rate coronavirus:
Spain- 38.0 per 100,000
US - 7.1 per 100,000
Sweden - 9.1 per 100,000
Ireland - 7.4 per 100,000
Germany - 3.8 per 100,000

Death rate all causes:
Spain - 8.3 per 1,000
US - 8.3 per 1,000
Sweden - 9.4 per 1,000
Ireland - 6.8 per 1,000
Germany - 12.1 per 1,000

Coronavirus increase above expected death rate
Spain 38.0/8.3=4.6%
US 7.1/8.3=0.9%
Sweden 9.1/9.4=1.0%
Ireland 7.4/6.8=1.1%
Germany 3.8/12.1=0.3%

But that's what a hoax is! According to Wiki it's "a falsehood deliberately fabricated to masquerade as the truth". And the whole "scare" is a hoax because it's not nearly as bad as the libbies claim it is. I wrote:

this whole coronavirus scare is a big hoax

I can't take credit for calling it that though. I got that from Dr. Ron Paul in his piece The Coronavirus Hoax

Dr. Paul is a very very smart man. I wish some nameless libbies out there would read him, but we all know that ain't gonna happen. 🙄
