I do need to be careful to say some more. First of all I need to qualify and say often these relationships hurt people but not all the time. They are always unnatural but that is a statement of fact. At the same time I should say that I do not doubt for a second that those with same sex attraction and in a loving committed relationship do find the sexual relationship they may share uniting and an expression of love. I have no experience of such things but I have met homosexual couples who while agreeing with the Church's teaching find it not matching up with their reality. I feel great empathy for this and am always understanding, compassionate, and I hope loving in the confessional. I know in my own life that sin can feel so right, but this does not make it right.

That demands submission to a Heavenly Father who sent His only Son to die for us so that we may be forgiven of sin and freed from guilt and shame now and for eternity and continues to be with us guiding us by the power of the Holy Spirit. We follow the wisdom first revealed by God Himself and they reflected upon and applied through many of the greatest men and women who have ever lived and who still live today. It offers help and assistance now for every type of need humanity can face and the promise of eternal life. It is open and clear about its teachings and aims to help everyone know and recognize their supreme dignity from conception till natural death and every point in between. For the vast majority of its history it has helped humanity advance in everything from the natural sciences and medicine to art and music. It has failed miserably at times through sinfulness and comes to recognize and reject such errors, even if during the same periods other institutions and states were doing much worse.
