It is the scourge of Atheism, materialism, and secularism that we should pray hard to be completely eradicated. In the last century more people have died in wars fueled by an abandonment of God and faith then in all the previous centuries added together. The loss of faith in God is not helping us but destroying us. Society is fraying and their are more people in slavery due to sex and unfair labor than ever before in history. Secular and atheistic ideas and philosophies are anti-intellectual, tend towards violence and oppression, and due not respect the God given freedom and dignity of every human person. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

I'd say more violence in the short history of the world has been done in the name of God than anything else |

Not wrong at all. Wars in the name of god have gone on for millennia. You want to compare that to the recent wars that have high death counts due to modern tech advances. And as we have talked about before, Hitler was raised strictly Catholic in a Catholic family. He even wanted to attend seminary when he was young. He learned his hatred of Jews from a then Jew hating Vatican who, when Hitler was a boy, was terrified of the Jews regaining control of the Holy Land and spoke out frequently against them. According to the The Catholic World Report, Hitler was not a Xtian or an atheist. He was something twisted in between the two. He was a pantheist who believed god was in nature and nature was divine. Because your prayers have worked so well before. Good luck. He ain't there, nobody's listening. I hope you pray out loud, because then at least one person will hear you. I refuse to dignify any of the specifics with a response; it would be beneath me, other than to say actually wanting to prove a theory is the opposite of anti-intellectual. It's something new, you didn't see this cloying need in the Church to prove all their off the wall ideas with science. They had actual faith, no need of proof. Joseph Campbell talks about that, how in the 30's and 40's no priest would ever argue about his beliefs. They just accepted on faith that they were true. And woe be to you if you were a priest and doubted them. Goodbye priesthood. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

You didn't take a vow of obedience when you became a priest? Part of which means you have to uphold the teachings and positions of the Church, you can't veer off into the weeds with your own theories and ignore the ones you were taught. So no matter what is said here, you will always always always take the Vatican position on everything because you swore to as part of your job. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
