Let’s say Greenlanders decide to accept Trumps proposal of $100k each to sell the island to the USA. Is this something that the Chief Executive can do without Congress passing a law? Is there a small change drawer Trump can find the $5 billion?

So in 2024 (don't worry I'll provide citations,) Dems proposed already 1:1 what Trump is proposing now, and Republicans were universally against it.

If Trump's proposal makes it to the floor it will be interesting how much if any it differs from the Dem bill, and who votes for it now who was completely against it before. Honestly, I'll respect a Republican more if they vote against Trump's bill because it shows consistency, the ones who vote for it now, shows they value politics and optics above all else.

I wouldn't settle for 100k to let another country take control of the USA. I assume the Greenlanders who really hate Greenland leave it when they can, leaving few Greenlanders who really are looking for a deal.

Personally, I think NATO should respond to Trump's threat by issuing orders than no American troop can leave the foreign bases for Rest and Recreation on that countries land until Trump relents. They have to stay on base. It won't affect their ability to do actual defense, but it would turn living there to shit not being able leave the base.

Trump might double down, but Congress would likely finely grow a pair of balls and all turn against him.

When Jefferson bought Louisiana, he debated the constitutionality of it all, and ultimately decided to ask Congress to ratify the already negotiated treaty. The rest is interesting history.

Assuming the Greenlanders decide to sellout to Donny-$100K and Us citizenship no questions asked, let's say-and the US government buys up all the private property on the island. The Us now holds the title to every single square inch of the private property of Greenland. That is no way would mean Greenland is now part of the US, any more than private property in the US owned by a foreign government makes it foreign territory, or foreign property owned by the US government makes it US sovereign territory. I'd want $1 million AND irrevocable US citizenship,no questions asked

Donny is supposed to be a master deal maker. Make a deal with Greenland and Denmark so they keep Greenland and we can put military bases and mineral mines where we need to. Problem solved.

About 90% of the population of Greenland are Inuit, i.e. quasi-eskimos, and like our eskimos in Alaska most men are drunks.

Trump can exploit this rampant alcohoism by offering not only money but free booze for life...you know, the art of the deal.
