I can't answer that.

I can.

No.

I don't know. Humanity won't last forever any more than Homo Erectus did. Perhaps instead of evolving we'll design and build our own successors.

Or the AI will want pets. :)

Have family member with a birthday coming up. I'm adding a prank gift box as well as a real one. I think this is just believable enough to pass as real -- like one of those seen on TV things.

I don't know... My work email is organized, among other things, with folders with these labels:

Bluescreen
MiniTrue
Room 101

Should I get a different job? Should I dial down this kind of sarcasm (no one else sees it)? Or is this a good way to vent?

When I get story ideas, I see either images, dialogue, scenes, etc. It's all very simple.

When I get recipe ideas, sometimes, I get a feeling like "That pineapple would go well with vanilla ice cream," but I've no idea in what way or how.

Apparently "sleep learning" does work for certain things. But it's not completely passive. You can enhance your foreign language learning by playing the words you studied during the day at night. Or a melody you practiced during the day, will improve more rapidly from listening to it at night.

Sleep learning obviously works since I slept at least 1/2 of the class time during university and still graduated with first class honors.

I learned to stop on skates in a dream. It's the only thing I ever learned while asleep.

I don't know if it takes dreaming, but I definitely work things out in my subconscious. It can work on things that happened to me for decades, then suddenly I realize I have an answer to some puzzlement, or maybe decide I was wrong about my earlier thoughts entirely.

A lot of times it is a matter of realizing finally I didn't want to face the truth at the time [yes! "I couldn't handle the truth!"]. In any case, it happens without consciously realizing I was working it out.
