Penguins only live in the Southern Hemisphere Duffy...

Just goes to show the true TDS=Trump's Deranged Supporters.

I know that. It was a trap to see how the TDS crowd would react since they believe almost anything.

Mr. Popper did send some penguins to the attic way back no idea how that turned out.

I swam with Penguins NORTH of the Equator. In the Galápagos Islands. Never let the facts get in the way of one of your posts!

Oh, so Trump's campaign promise, the linchpin of his reelection, is just a pipe dream, a load of road apples?
.

That's how I interpret it, maybe he will deport them all who knows. In my opinion 20% would be fine especially if most of them are criminals

I think as an anti-Trumper I am able to find humor in his more ludicrous blatherings, without letting it bother my soul.

When the leader of another country responds seriously it's not a joke. Trump deserves all the derision he gets. I'm glad you didn't vote for him at least.

His legacy, which actually would have been quite positive had he just not sought re-election, is now so low…. His most noteworthy moments will be of his ‘debate senility’ and ill thought out pardons, his son foremost, these worst of the worst criminals, secondly. He can still do damage for another month.

As a Bostonian and a death penalty opponent, I don't know how I feel about leaving the Marathon Bomber off the commutation list. If anyone deserves it it is him, as well as the two other men still sentenced to death. If and when they are executed I will shed no tear, but just be saddened by the violence they knowingly inflicted and feel sad for their victims.

When they're in the SuperMax in Colorado, that's pretty much a living death. 23 hours alone, 1 hour of exercise. Only can visit with your lawyer. Can't talk to other prisoners. To me, it doesn't matter much if they stay there. That guy went in when he was 24 I think.

Death penalties are not meant as punishment as much as they are to deter others from committing violent crimes. The Romans did this quite effectively with crucifixions. They crucified over 100,000 criminals and runaway slaves so the General Public would get the idea that you're better off not doing those things. And it worked, seeing somebody hanging on a cross slowly dying is a great deterrent.

The Japanese under the old emperors had the right idea. They had no prisons, if you killed somebody or stole a loaf of bread or any other kind of crime you got the death penalty. A short trial and usually two or three days later you were dead. No wasted money on people rotting in prison. It worked very well Japan had one of the most crime free societies in the world.

There is no evidence the death penalty deters crime.
