I'm a licensed driver and had a physical license at the time of my employ. I simply lost it and haven't replaced it

OK so you do have a driving license, you just lost your phsycial copy.
That is different than having no ID at all.

I do know some people that were homeschooled, never want to drive, and never work, and never get any government ID and are in their 30s now.

I guess they don't buy tobacco, liquor, cannabis or gamble either. Don't go to licensed liquor establishments, cross borders, fly or need any medical services as well.

You generally support the police so if they have no ID when they are randomly stopped for no mask and asked for ID how do you see that developing?

They aren't likely to have been able to get a credit card so I presume they don't shop on-line either.

I have a good example who is a cousin. He is 30 now. Going out with him is a pain, because he gets kicked out of clubs and bars constantly for not having ID. And, casinos are a nightmare.

He does smoke cigarettes (I think his parents buy for him) and still lives at home, does not have a credit card or debit card that I know of. He likes to drink far too much which as far as I can tell his parents also buy for him...

His parents pretty much buy everything for him and give him cash.

As for medical services I don't know, he can't be on his parents after 26. My guess is he just does not have insurance.
I know he has never left the U.S. so travel is not an issue for him.
As for shopping online again I am sure that his parents let them use their cards....

If you live a very insulated lifestyle and live with your family, it is quite possible to not have ID simply because your parents do everything for you. And, my cousin is not particularly wealthy.
But, I would imagine that ultra-rich kids this applies to maybe even more so because they stay so insulated in their parents estates and have no reason to interact with the real world (because family or staff gets everything for them...)

I have actually seen him stopped by the police (does a lot of stupid things). They usually ask your name and date of birth (or SSN) if you have no ID. This is another reason that I support Federal IDs.

You can gamble quite bit without an ID. It just has limitations.

Supposedly, you can't rent without an ID because of filling out a lease. But people still rent out an extra room in their home for cash.

Buying cigarettes in some places is just a matter of looking over a certain age.

As far as flying, you can find people online who still catch railroad cars.

There's lots of inconveniences but it isn't impossible.

Dunno if you've looked around lately, but there's a lot of stupid people about.

The average IQ in the US is 99.
Means a whole lot of people
are below 99. The mean IQ
in 2020 is 89. In 1900 the mean
IQ was 70.

You think people are stupid now?
We live in the age of brilliance

I am not suggesting feudalism. I am a liberal and favor equality and social programs to help the poor. I do however, believe that we need to respect authorities when they act according to their policies. I am sorry, but being inconvenienced for a few months is not giving away freedoms. There are emergency powers for a reason: major wars, pandemics, and natural disasters.
I like the idea of those infected wearing masks. And even though I am immune compromised, I consider it up to me to protect myself the best I can with good practices. You also have the right to stay home, probably work from home, and have grocery's delivered if you feel it is unsafe to meander outdoors. Next year there will be another flu and a derivative of this one, and old H1N1, Swine flu etc. are still out there. If a law is passed and enforced for the Covid virus, should the mask laws be permanent? All the people, all the time?

Sure, as means of control. The "Patriot Act" may have changed the rules, but all presidents declare emergency's which gives then the AUM force powers. An emergency can be called for economic reasons, so we are always under a state of emergency. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/how-many-national-emergencies-have-been-called-by-presidents/

Which mask is acceptable? Should it be an N95, dust mask, handkerchief? I've read that transmission happens also through the eyeballs. Would you force people to wear eye protection? Why not? I'm assuming you've had blood /saliva born pathogens hazmat training. Where do you stop, hazmat gear? Will you force public buildings to have signs describing the quality of their air purification systems as some casino's do ? You can't protect people from themselves, all you can do is create more revenue crimes. I distinctly recall when seat belts would not be a pull-overable offense.

In this city, people came through and bought all the masks early on. If I see an easy to apply mask I will probably buy some, but I can't accept the government enforcing what to wear.

What would work better than people wearing masks, most of them improperly, is those that are severely compromised using supplied air [SCBA], if you are serious about their health, or stay home if it's your health you are concerned with, or wear whatever protection you deem fit. I do believe mask laws violate the 4th.

How many people can die in your city per month before the government steps in and enforces some restrictions to save lives?
