By 'certain' politicians I assume you are including virtually all politicians?

No. Obama didn’t make all his decisions based on how the Dow would react.

We would be in a MUCH better place had Donny been willing to make some tough decisions in January and February and not worry about the damn stock market. But he wasn’t able to. And now we’ve got the worst of both worlds. The market still tanked and the lack of preparation led to thousands of more deaths than there needed to be and immeasurable more suffering.

This is not the only one. But, many sherrifs that are refusing to follow Govenor's directives are facing potential recall and are now requesting that the government pay for their defense (more than a tad ironic).

This is both the harm and the beauty of elected Sherrifs and Coroners, anyone can be elected into office, but also anyone can face recall when they directly threaten the lives of others. These should not be elected positions, but that is an argument for a different day.

I urge everyone who values the rule of law to sign recall petition for Sherriffs violating their orders.

This is more evidence that law enforcement needs to be more centralized and less local, but again argument for a different day...

It is important residents use their votes and recall powers to remove corrupt sheriffs.

Luckily cool heads are prevailing at many state levels. It may be challenging, but the state knows what is best and people (including sherrifs) need to get on board or resign or face recall..... The States have an uphill battle in some parts of the country, but I am confident that they are up to the task.
We need to end the old generation of Wild West Sherriffs who feel they can override decisions made above them....

Also, enjoy this irony:

"
By directly or indirectly encouraging people to disobey data-driven, science-based lawful orders handed down expressly to limit the spread of COVID-19 and to protect our health and well-being during this pandemic emergency, your statement is fairly construed to support behavior that puts all citizens at greater risk of harm and death,” Cornell wrote. “Put simply, your words were akin to yelling ‘fire’ in a crowded theater.”

Last week, as first reported by the Everett Herald, Fortney requested the county defend him against the recall effort, should it move forward, at the taxpayer’s expense.

One day after that request, Snohomish County Prosecutor Adam Cornell responded in a lettersaying that after “considerable thought,” he had determined Fortney’s comments on a public Facebook page did not warrant a taxpayer funded defense. "

You do realize that there is very little research on masks. What studies there are have come down both for and against them. Naw you probably don't know that since it doesn't fit the agenda you are trying to spin.

WOW, you REALLY are begging for your freedoms to be taken away!

Let them petition for a recall, it will go down in flames. The Sheriffs are keeping their oath. These are not "laws" but "orders." And people are tired of these unneeded and draconian orders. If you want to wear a mask wear a mask. They are useless, but if it makes you feel better go for it. If you want to sit in your house go ahead and do it. Let the rest of us get back to work.

Seriously, do you value your freedom at all? If you value someone else making your decisions for you I would bet I could find either a Cuban or North Korean who would gladly switch places with you. What kind of weather do you like, tropical or cold?

It is interesting that some are upset about Sheriffs not enforcing the orders of their localities now but not so much at cities and states not following the orders of the Federal government at other times.

Then some argue for a more centralized policing system.

The same people constantly pile blame on the president but have little to say about governors who have actually implemented rules that favor one business over another.

Some seem to wish for the virus to screw up the reopening of the country and that people that support Trump get ill and die from it.

There's PLENTY to talk about and, sadly, some blame to go around...but you'll never hear about it from them because, well, Trump.

TDS has and will probably cause far more deaths than the china virus ever will. The haters want chaos, not solutions.

Seems like psychological projection to me. After all, we’ve got one rightie here who openly wished for the virus to wipe out “libbie” cities.

...and he was wrong, just as anyone who wishes for further economic collapse or wishes diseases on people they disagree with is wrong.
