How can you hate Halloween?

I can’t imagine living my life in misery, hating the world like so many posters here.

I'm new here, and I honestly thought you were blowing smoke about suspending people for making blanket statements like the one above. I thought it was a joke and that you were bluffing just to get everybody off your back.

Simple, I just always thought it was silly. I never liked costumes, never wanted to be on stage, never liked face painting or anything like it. As a kid I kind of went out because that is what you do as a kid. I don't remember really looking forward to it at all. Today I just plain hate it, for all the same reasons. I see people that get way into it and am like "why?"

Hating a few things is not "hating the world." Though I do know I am in a small minority for many of the things I do not like. Once you accept that a calm and peace feeling comes over you.

Oh brother, so disagreeing with somebody about Halloween means that you live in misery and hate the world?? Good lord...

For the record, Halloween isn't really my thing either. Neither is Xmas or Easter, to be honest.

I wish people would celebrate Veterans Day and Memorial Day as much as they celebrate the other holidays.

I used to totally love Thanksgiving. Not as much now, life has changed things. I used to travel home to visit for it, and it was just a relaxing thing. Christmas is about right for me, my sister has Christmas Eve at about 5 so I stop at the casino before just to have a drink and watch the quiet. Except when Christmas Eve is on the weekend, then you can hardly tell. NYE I go to bed at 10 unless I am working a gig. That one I never cared for as we always were eating Christmas leftovers.

Hween was forever for kids, abults
had nothing to do with it. Then in
the 70's kids started maturing later
and later and later, so now we have
30 year olds acting like their 15.

For years these Hween stores have
popped up in malls the whole month
of Oct. They have tons of places
you can pay to go thru a scary
house. There are Hween parties
galore. If you're under 40 you don't
remember when none of this
garbage existed. It embarrasses me
to see adults act like idiots.

I used to be 50/50 on Tgiving, now
I hate it. My wife does too, it's just
another 'more work' holiday. We
just go to the China Buffet now,
and believe me it's packed.
