You miss the point
You and some of the senators have already made your decision before all the evidence has been presented
Closed minds make decisions before hearing all the evidence
sad

I have not made a final decision. It wouldn't stun me if evidence is turned up against DJT for what to me would be an impeachable offense. I have not heard anything close in my opinion. What I have heard is a party trying to overturn a just election.

I'll say it again. Asking a foreign entity to use it's resources to expose a high ranking American citizen's criminal activity is NOT an impeachable offense. Whether the citizen is running for office or not.
Asking a foreign entity to MAKE UP evidence would be an impeachable offense. No one has even implied he did that.

Okay, so let me ask you. What was his motive in asking Ukraine to do this? A noble effort to stamp out corruption? That seems to be what your position is but I just want to clarify before we move on. Withholding aid appropriated by Congress in exchange for a personal political favor is a clear abuse of power and is DEFINITELY an impeachable offense. But you firmly believe that this was not an impeachable offense.

So...what was the motive then?

Impeachment should be done when the House feels it can present evidence to the Senate that it can expect, or at least possibly expect, 2/3 of the Senators to vote to oust.

Exactly right. The Senate is where the
actual trial takes place. Real evidence
only (blue dress) and absolutely no
hearsay allowed. Lawyer after lawyer
last night went into how unreliable
and laughable hearsay 'evidence' is,
let alone in the most important trial
in the country. What the Dems are
doing here is a mystery, they're making
fools of themselves for no apparent
reason. There was no impeachable
offense, and none will be found.

It has to be they are deflecting attention
from the coming Horowitz report and
the Barr investigation. It's the only thing
that makes sense. None of what they're
doing with this circus will get rid of
Trump, it will only make hos base more
loyal than ever.

The hearsay is based on real live people most of whom are being blocked from testifying. This means another obstruction of justice charge.

Hearsay is a joke, it's the telephone
game. You really think courts allow
'he heard from a guy who heard from
another guy' as evidence?

Fine. Bring in Pompeo, Bolton, and Mulvaney. Oh wait, Trump is blocking them.

Speaks volumes.

They’d really love Giuliani as well.

While I don’t think Bolton was directly Involved, I suspect he knows more than he wishes he knew, and is now caught between a rock and a hard place, because of questions about why he didn’t do more than he did, rather than just not participate.

No, it doesn't. The case is for the
prosecution is to prove guilt, the defense's
job is to make this as difficult as
possible. Any good lawyer will tell
you never to volunteer anything
to law enforcement, even if you
are 100% innocent.

In this case, all they're interested
in is setting up perjury traps. Get
people close to the president under
oath and trap them. Look how many
times in the past it's worked.

You know how to avoid a perjury trap? Tell the truth.

Pretty simple.

Bill Clinton was impeached for perjury to a grand jury, and obstruction of justice, not for any of his actions that led to the convening of the grand jury.

He was not impeached for the Whitewater controversy, the firing of white house travel agents, abuse of fbi files, or getting a blowjob from a subordinate.

He was impeach for lying about it and covering it up.

For the things he was impeached for, he should have been convicted in the senate.
