Of course, there's a straw that breaks the back of any relationship. So what. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

No, that's hardly the only answer. You can't even show god exists, let alone anything else. So your 'only' answer doesn't even enter into it. This is like a conversation about how great the land of Oz is, when you can't even establish that Oz exists. You love nothing better than to gloss over the fact that you have no grounds for your argument, and just plough ahead like it doesn't matter. Well, it does matter. Without it you have nothing. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Sin is that straw that breaks our relationship with God. Put aside your disbelief in God and just think of one of your friends. That which would break your relationship with your friend is sin. Let me know if you have any other questions or still don't get it. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

I have reality behind me and that is what you would like to just gloss over. Why does Jesus matter so much? What is your explanation? As you have said over and over thousands and thousands were crucified, many claimed to be the Messiah, His teaching was similar to many that went before. What is it about Him that inspired those who followed Him to such fervor of spreading His message? What led so many to accept Him and His claim to be God and to follow Him and worship Him? What led to the spread of the largest religion on Earth? I'm curious as to what your answer is. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

Just when I thought you couldn't get any more obscure about what sin is, you prove me wrong. You're in the sin business and have not a clue what it is. Just to get you grounded: sin/ noun noun: sin; plural noun: sins 1. an immoral act considered to be a transgression against god This definition doesn't seem to be in your dictionary, when it's the main definition in everybody elses.. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Right place at the right time. Why did Mormonisn catch on and flourish into the richest religion in the world. Same explanation. And Jesus only matters to his followers, the rest of us could care less. Go to India or China or Russia and find out how much Jesus matters to them. Mormons have been around for 175 years they are full of blue mud. A truly dumb religion. Yet I can guarantee that 300 years from now they will be even stronger. Never underestimate the gullibility of the human race. Xtionity is a testament to that.. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Replace God with friend and what is the difference between what we were just talking about. Sin is an immoral act that is a transgression against a friend. I know you don't believe in God, for no apparent reason, but you are at least familiar with the concept of sin. You acknowledge that a friend can do something that so transgresses against you that it can sever the friendship. It is the same thing, do you see it now? "Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us." “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

FrGamble Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 67 Posts: 7596 | Umm...when Mormons are still around 1,850 years from now I might not laugh so much at your comparison. I also had to laugh as your right place and right time line. You think the right time to start a Jesus movement was when the most powerful empire on Earth was oppressing your people and your own people call for your execution? You think before the days of mass communication and when gods and religion was so intertwined with national identity and power that it was a good time for Jesus to blow all that stuff up and challenge the essence of just about every other religion around. Come on man, you have to be more serious than that!?! “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

So you just make up definitions of sin, what a fun game. I say sin is promising your dog chopped beef for dinner and you give him a can of cat food instead. Makes as much sense as anything you can come up with. Lets go to that pesky dictionary again: sin 1. an offense against religious or moral law 2 a : transgression of the law of God Seems easy enough to me, how come you never mention it. I was told by my Xtion friends in the 70's that Jesus died so we would escape original sin. What did Jesus say about original sin, I don't recall. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
