So he has not come out in favor of reparations. But I, like you, want a candidate to straightforwardly dismiss the idea. The 'discuss' part leaves hope that once he assembles all the pertinent facts he would disapprove. If it turns out that in the end the 'reparations' is something like some big donation to "historically Black Colleges" I could deal with that.

For those that keep mentioning that Hunter Biden has a child out of wedlock, really, who cares? You can care that he used his father's influence to get the sleazy Ukrainian money, but during this Presidency I don't think it is wise to belittle someone for having had sex with a stripper.......

I’m conditionally fine with reparations under these conditions:

Find all of the people in America who were slaveowners.

Find all of the people in America who were slaves.

Make the former slaveowners give money to the former slaves.

Money changing hands: $0.00, reparations successful.

His "discuss" is what the libs call a "dog whistle" to those that favor the idea. I do not even support indirect "donations." We donated how many hundred thousand lives to free slaves, how much money, how much else? We have had how many programs over the years? It will never, ever end. Many Blacks have been successful, someone has to tell the reparations supporters to get off their tail and quit waiting for their 40 acres and mule.

Agree there. He needs to be told to go get snipped he wants to live like that, but his buddies have that job.

Reparations are fine for people who directly suffered, such as Japense Internment who rightfully received reparations.

Reparations cannot be based on perceived injustice long gone ancestors may not may not have faced.

I wish I could find a gif that
has a truck full of money
backing up to an open
sewer and dumping in the
money. That's the same as
giving reparations.

When I had the cab biz, the
1st and the 15th were free
money time. We were busy
all over the ghetto taking
people to liquor stores so
they could load up on cigs,
booze, and lottery tickets.
And get paid for the ride
in food stamps. Good times.

Guess that means Donny gave a televised speech this morning!

What was the discount rate on stamps?

When I was a cashier people hated us as we were the only store around that carded stamp users.

It the ride was $5 the rate
was $10 in stamps. I ate a
lot of free food in those
days. Nobody ever carded
me or even blinked. Those
were the days of actual
paper food stamps that
looked like colorful money.

What they used to pay in. Another thing we did was all but the $1s were supposed to be torn from the book by the vendor. Only we enforced that.

I would buy them in the book
for cash sometimes. Half price
of course.
