Bill Cosby, What the Frick?

RECAPITULATION: I wish to state that the statements made by me regarding various rape allegations are not a matter of some adopted blinders or some sort of misplaced faith in Bill Cosby. If anything it represents a continued bias against the police, the prosecutors and the media.

some historical comments: the McMartin school allegations started off being made by a woman who was an alcoholic and a mental patient. she accused a male teacher at the school, the Mayor of NYcity and the Pope of butt fucking her son while she left him unattended in a park. the police sent the kids to various psychos all of whom reported all their patients as "perfectly normal little children" except for ONE such psycho who reported ALL the kids sent to her as having been sexually abused. However, it should be remembered that this particular pyscho sees only patients who she encourages to believe were sexually abused as children. the fifth estate failed to mention this as did the police and district attorney.

some more recent actions.
bicycle-gate: Minister leaving 9 Downing Street on his bicycle wished to have the vehicle gate opened for him but cop, oops...Constable told him to navigate his bike through the pedestrian gate. Its obvious that the video only tape shows words were uttered but it appears they were brief, not terribly insulting and did not include the highly insulting terminology the cops later claimed were used. cops submitted "evidence" and "emails" insupport of the police version of events and the tape clearly showed that there were no such passersby and that author of the email admitted to being off duty and several miles distant at the time of the event he alleged to have witnessed. senior police officers immediately embarked on major media campaign against the Minister popular with the public but not with the police unions. campaign eventually forced the Prime Minister to seek his Minister's resignation.

Jimmy Saville died. Promptly dozens of allegations of improper conduct were made including such things as totally unrestricted access to a prison for the criminally insane and having been supplied with teen age female patients to visit Jimmy and receive his autograph in a special all-night hospital room that a local hospital made available to Jimmy in return for his fund raising efforts. Even after the press trumpeted as fact the allegations of the hospital room, it emerged that there was no such room and other hospital personnel did not in any way provide such female teenage patients to him and security cameras did not show any such all night long trafficking in teen age girls.

Accusations were made about police cover up and bbc-cover up, but it appears there was no evidence to cover up, merely a series of accusations with little or no substance to them.

Operation Yew Tree: see wikipedia. Huge sums of money, massive efforts by police to dredge for witnesses or accusers... ridiculous level of "probative value" used by police who were formally instructed to not criticise any complainant as fanciful or unbelievable.

so forgive me if I'm a bit distrustful of the cops and district attorneys and the reporters about this crosby character. It seems from some of the stories that he might have been handing out qualudes to women but he would have to have been swallowing vitamins and testosterone by the handfuls to have performed even half of what he is accused of.

So you think only the prosecutorial side is capable of making mistakes?

NO, not at all.

Perhaps, but most of accusations are press releases and seem lacking in evidence as to why the assertions are so late. trial should be evidence produced in open court, not press releases issued by women claiming compensation for events from years ago that they made no contemporary complaints about or consulted rape consultants or lawyers. Maybe some of these things did happen but I do not base my conclusions on the story presnted by the National enquirer.

I would tend to doubt it. He is obviously black, I'm white. However, I'm not too sure a Lynch Mob would be stopped by such an observation.

My apologies to Bing Crosby of the On The Road movies. I only saw one or perhaps two of the cosby shows and I really didn't like the guy. He certainly seems weird and lacking in moral character. Many of his accusers seem weird and lacking in moral character also. He has deep pockets and that brings accusers out of the wood work. I might trust a court transcript or an authorized commission of inquiry but I sure don't trust the National Inquirer or starlets who have dollar signs in their eyes that are far bigger than their augmented boobs.

I don't think Cosby ever got caught in the act by an outsider, but the rumors in Hollywood were strong enough. This clip from an episode of '30 Rock' is 5 years old.

I've heard this "industry rumors" stuff and its considered by me to be a two edged sword. If so many "insiders" knew about it, how did it happen that new victims were sent to his place by modeling agencies? If they were insiders they would know they were exposing themselves to lawsuits, often from underage models? what insider would do that? the victim could lose her suit against cosby but win it against the agency.

Inside information always leaks outside. On wall street it takes thirty seconds, In Hollywood it seems to take thirty years.

Even with rumors look how resistant people have been to anything but praise for Cosby for years and years. Most people probably dismissed it even after they heard something about something going on.

Same with these other guys. It's like hearing Santa Clause might be a child molester. Everything you heard up to this point makes you resistant to such a sea change. There's definitely advantage to nice old fatherly type, fun with children appearance for years, role model, etc.,

Sometimes they're not real; they are a Sandusky.

I've read insiders heard rumors about Cos
for years. but with no victims going public
it wasn't really a story. Everybody in H-wood
knew Rock Hudson was Gay from the time
he got there in the late 40's. He was so cute
he looked like a girl, and acted like one. He
actually giggled. But those kinds of 'secrets'
weren't for public consumption like they are
now. Same with Tiger Woods, everybody in
the golf biz knew he was a whore monger,
nobody was surprised at what happened to him.
