Buy her one of these. Maybe she would like the convenience, but still go far.

Thanks for the suggestion, but the issue isn't speed. I think it is that bikes are something people ride who are too poor to drive a car.

Maybe you could compromise. Tell her you will buy her the luxury car she desperately wants if she agrees to ride bikes with you a couple of times a month,

Bad idea. When she doesn't keep it up is he going to take the car back? If she has tried it several times and is not liking it, then it is pointless. One of the few things I have learned is that continually trying to get my wife to do an activity that she doesn't really like will end badly.

I already got her one with no strings attached.

I agree 100%. We men complain about our women trying to change us, so we should also accept them for who they are.

I tried out the I-15 frontage road, technically Las Vegas Blvd., and it was not very bike friendly. No bike lane and fast traffic. The traffic wasn't that heavy but I prefer to have a little more buffer space between me and the cars. At this point I'm thinking of just doing a loop route close to home. I may try for Wednesday or Thursday. terapined, you're welcome to join me.

Boy am I glad you are not doing that sountern portion of LV blvd. When I looked at google streetview, I thought omg, very dangerous.
I streetviewed a good portion and it looked extremely unsafe. No way I would ever ride on that route.
I was actually thinking of PM ing a admin for an intervention not to do that route.
As for me joining you, I probabbly not up to it.
Last couple of days feeling very anemic, no energy and my spring allergies are acting up.
I am actually concerned.
I generally love to go out and ride but these last few days have had no desire. Very unusual for me.
Feeling a little better, taking a flight tomorrow , hopefully my allergies will subside in the desert and vegas will put a spring in my step.

Thank you for your concern. In my defense, Google Maps labels that route as "bicycle friendly." I asked a couple bicyclists I passed going down the Saint Rose Parkway about it and they both recommended I have nothing to do with it.

I hope you're feeling more energetic soon. Right now is allergy season in Vegas or just past it. My unicycle is covered in pollen, as is everything else. However, I think we're past the worst of it and I don't hear as much sneezing as I did during the worst of it. The dry Vegas air I think will help you.

Have a good flight.

Weather forecast for Las Vegas for Wednesday, March 18: 78 degrees, cloudy, wind: west 8 MPH.

This will be good for the challenge. I'm going to take it easy until then so I'll be like a loaded spring, ready to go on Wednesday.
