I'm leaning towards yes. M to Gold Strike, relax, play some vp, recharge for an hour or however long it takes you, then back to the M.
I can handle 16 miles, relax, 16 miles. I'm good with early, 6am is 9am body clock, easy.
Exactly what kind of bike will I be riding?
Choices? Pictures?
What specific day are you thinking of?
I ride with a mini-disc Walkman, cant do miles without music.
Big breakfast at the M to start? I'm thinking a moderate meal may be best :-)

That's good you're leaning towards going. I hadn't thought about loaning you a bike. Can you remind me how tall you are. Here are the bikes I own:

1. Carbon fiber Scott bike, but it has clip in pedals, so you would need to be a 9 to 9.5 shoe size (you can borrow my bike shoes) for it to work, and familiar with clip in shoes.
2. Nearly new beach cruiser. Designed for a female rider about 5'6" but anybody could use it. Very comfortable but heavy and slow.
3. My son's hybrid. Also appropriate for about 5'6".
4. My wife's racing bike. Hasn't been touched in about 19 years. Yet again, sized at about 5'6".

As you can see, I keep trying to get my wife into biking buy buying her new bikes, but they also get ignored. I tend to think my son's bike would be the best option. It is about a 4-month old Specialized. Great bike, just will be a little small for you.

Honestly now I'm leaning against.
2 reasons.
The route looks real unsafe too me.
I don't like to ride near cars.
There probably are not many cars on this road but those few cars are probably going real fast.
I clicked through a good part of the route on streetview. Does not look like a safe route. I generally like an established bike lane at the least, sidewalk better, bike path best.
Where I ride, there is a lot of interesting stuff to look at. This ride is whole lot of absolutely nothing too look at. A real grind. No other riders.
I'm used to riding by the ocean, by the bay, by the river, through the woods.

2nd reason is 17 miles each way for 32. I could do this on my bike which I absolutely adore , a 20" Trek Soho 3.0
To do this many miles, a person has to be real comfortable with the bike.
I'm not thrilled with the bike choices.
Any of your bikes I could do a few miles, 32, I would hate myself if I accepted.

Although I'm still a bit sore this morning, if I'm feeling good tomorrow, I will stick to the original plan. Starting Thursday there is a long run of hot clear weather on the horizon.

Thanks! Still a little sore this morning but hope I get over it by tomorrow morning. If I'm not, I'll postpone the attempt.

Still sore in the evening. I've decided to postpone the 50-mile ride, probably until early next week.

I can't take it, when will this be over.
I can't force myself not to look at
this thread.. Sigh.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Buy her one of these. Maybe she would like the convenience, but still go far.

Thanks for the suggestion, but the issue isn't speed. I think it is that bikes are something people ride who are too poor to drive a car.
