I notice on the chart that out-of-pocket spending is reduced slightly...that's good. But then I notice that the Federal Subsidies for Health Care go way up, which leads me to ask: Where is that money coming from? In the model with the lowest out-of-pocket spending costs, the Federal Subsidies more than double. Survey says...taxes! So, what do you want to call, "Out-of-pocket?" Taxes are certainly out of someone's pocket, made all the worse by the fact that they were never IN that person's pocket in the first place. If you REALLY wanted to save money on healthcare, just abolish Medicare, Medicaid and the health insurance industry...problem solved. "Oh, but nobody would be able to afford healthcare." Of course they would. The medical establishment would have to make it affordable, otherwise nobody would use it. Granted, not EVERYBODY would be able to afford healthcare, but who cares? In a close race their vote means a lot, unless you a republican running for office in a close race like GA, its a demographic they pretty much ignore. Weird It it a simple math equation? Of course you ‘want’ $2k. Who doesn’t. But we have adults (Republican Senators) who understand that you can’t always give everyone everything they want. My wife said she got the $600 in her account yesterday. What a STUPID use of tax dollars. Extend unemployment benefits that are COVID related. Help pay for pathetic State’s failures at giving out FREE shots! Give more money to restaurants that are FORCED to be closed. Just don’t give my wife and kids money that they do not NEED. Use my tax dollars to help those in need. Seriously, I wouldn’t be surprised if Melanie qualifies for the $600! |
