"Even if Americans were to reverse their recent backward trend, one estimate says that at its rate of longevity growth from the past several years it would take the U.S. more than 100 years to catch up to the average life expectancy other wealthy countries reached by 2016."

Meh. Got to be life to live. Let’s get it over with.

This sums up the whole article:

Of the top 10 states with the highest number of excess deaths in the 25-64 age range – meaning deaths above projections based on U.S. mortality rates – eight were in the Rust Belt or Appalachia. Half of the excess deaths were concentrated in the latter region.

It's called culling the gene pool..

I'd more call it its a tougher life in that area. The nation has forgotten these areas, you forge on but eventually wear out.

Petro, do you have a lottery ticket in your pocket? I just read someone in Arizona failed to claim a 14 million dollar ticket before the deadline, and now it's worthless.

Trivia: The biggest-ever unclaimed prize was a $77 million winning ticket purchased in Georgia in June 2011.

That would just be sad, finding that ticket too late.

That is sad, I'm sure the state will know best what to do with the money. I've never bought one of those.

WTF
Criticizing Israel is not anti-Jewish
Plenty of Jews criticize Israel
A lot of Jewish people have suddenly been declared anti Semitic. Amazing

It seems the 9th Circus used the 8th Amendment to throw out the laws. That is not really going to cut it as telling people they have to move along is neither cruel or unusual. The needs of the regular citizen who uses the sidewalk must be balanced with the rights of someone with nowhere to go to be there.

The West Coast is now 3rd World in it's homeless crisis. I expect it to take a generation to fix it, if it is ever fixed. If the laws are thrown out, governments hands are really tied.

.
No particular inclination to go elsewhere but surely the ability to keep going somewhere else. homeowners pay to look out on a park, not shopping carts, tents, laundry lines and "public restrooms".
