oh, I forgot, it's about what's popular with the public, not about what's right or wrong

the ultra-rich do pay taxes on income, in total amount making up almost all of what's collected on income, pay more into social security than they will get back [without factoring inflation, which makes it worse], and are doomed to lose a chunk in death taxes. Their wealth has already been taxed when it got earned, making it double taxation to tax assets but they will suffer this too on their assets anyway , those are called capital gains taxes . It's just that the Commies [I won't mention any names] want to get their hands on it now

now why should I care about the ultra-rich? A lot of them make me sick. My gut says 'sock it to em' . If they could limit it to the richest few billionaires we have now and just say each pays an extra $10 million [you might talk me into more] on top of what's usual, sounds good to me [emphasis on 'sounds' ] But #1 I know it's wrong and unconstitutional and #2 it leads to I don't know what ... remember what they said about only the rich having to pay income tax when they introduced that

I'll be nice and just repeat the Ultra-Rich do get taxed, please read that again and see if you can dispute what's in it. The issue is, not should they get taxed or not, but can the government get their hands on it now or not. I say they can wait. Using your logic, what do you care? You're not getting any of it.

Because the uber-rich have many many ways of ensuring “the affirmative action of generational wealth” never gets sufficiently taxed and always is hoarded amongst a greedy few.

Kudos to Kamala for suggesting ways to fix that wrong.

The income tax was supposed to be for only the ultra rich and FICA was supposed to only be what 1.5%. Ask the left wingers how those worked out.
