My unexpert opinion from looking at the different pictures at better times* concludes those children were happy and well-cared for prior to their death.

Also, hard to imagine both of them wouldn't have given away clues to others around them, if children were a burden to them prior to the immediate run-up to the homicide. Remember Susan Smith backing her car into a lake with her kids inside?

*better times = any other time but current I guess.

The darkside of motherhood gets unexplored until something like this happens. I guess we have to accept that as strong as the instinct for 'mothering' is, there is also burden resentment as a dark, secret suppressed feeling fully defeated 99.999+% of the time ... not counting lessor events short of murder

if you look for it in books and old movies, there was a time before better birth control when people could express openly negative feelings about the burden of children ... without suffering too much opprobrium

Apparently mama "snapped" as she strangled and "snapped" the cervical spines of her spawn.

Too bad Massachusetts doesn't have the death penalty: might it not be apt for the noose to "snap" her neck as well?

Defense stipulated-admitted-she killed the children in the manner alleged and then tried to kill herself. There is no legal dispute on those facts. There is no lgal dispute that he could've been the killer.

of course, so I was exploring the possibility that they got it all wrong, including the defense team ... just on the basis that it evidently was so unusual she strangled them. Note well I do not believe that 'he did it' to be the case at all

I guess I’d never be picked for a jury. She admitted she strangled them? I would find her guilty of murder regardless of how many psychiatrists say she is crazy. OF COURSE SHE IS CRAZY. Her being crazy does not change (to me) the fact that she is a murderer.

She is a murderer because she killed, in this case three chidlren. She is innocent of murder becasue she (a) has not been convicted and (b) maybe lacked the intent to kill.

No, not "innocent:" she may be found to have "lacked capacity" but that does not minimize or excuse her actions, it merely means she'd go off to the nut house for being criminally insane instead of going to prison.

Under no circumstances would she get a "bye" for her heinous crimes.
