you can kill somebody and then say, "oh hell, I was emotional at the time, not my fault" ...... ??

"Mangione’s lawyers will argue that he was in the throes of an “extreme emotional disturbance” when he gunned down Thompson in December 2024."

Pretty sure no matter what the plea, he's counting on a hung jury.

Unless the prosecutors bungle things really badly, I doubt he gets the "OJ" verdict.

Don't you think this is a weak laughable defense
No doubt the jury will see right through this
Let's be real. The defense doesn't have much to work with

Emotional and not my fault would be something like walking into a room and seeing your young child being sexually assaulted and you just lose it on the perpetrator in the moment

Or like coming home and finding your wife in the sack with the pool boy.

Too bad attorney Texas "Race Horse" Haynes can't represent this killer...he got a guilty man off in Texas: he admitted his client killed the deceased but successfully argued to the jury that "The son of a bitch needed killing," which was NOT a part of a self defense argument.

"bust-out fraud," a major gap in the financial reporting system where lenders wait up to 30 days to report new auto debt to credit bureaus.

This reporting delay creates a temporary blind spot that scammers exploit to finance fleets of luxury vehicles simultaneously.

How the Loophole Works
The Blind Spot: When a borrower takes out an auto loan, the lender approves it based on the borrower's current credit profile. However, that new loan does not immediately show up on a credit report.

The Multi-Loan Spree: Because of the 30-day data lag, scammers with clean profiles or AI-fabricated credentials can visit multiple separate dealerships within days or weeks. Each lender runs a credit check, sees zero existing auto debt, and approves a new loan

Won't lenders see multiple credit inquiries though?

Maybe it's there, but they don't pay attention if there are no loans reported.

Also, every car salesperson I've met is almost 99% determined to get a sale, if possible. On their terms, of course.

The dealerships don't care how bad a credit risk someone is as long as it meets the requirements the lender is asking for. If their credit score is 720 or above they won't have any problem assigning that loan. If a person has a very good credit score (>760) they could easily lease 5 to 10 vehicles before the credit reporting agencies catch up.
At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a deterrent.
