Inflation is cooling off just as economists, the Fed, and Biden expected

Thoughts and prayers to our resident inflation-scare-mongers (Tanko).

Just got a letter from awning store that puts up and takes down my awning. Has been $100. Letter states that ‘due to staggering increases in labor costs the cost of …. will be $167! Snow plow removal guy sent letter saying ‘I cannot find any help at a reasonable cost so I will not be providing service this year’’. Things I am aware of…. Starbucks Double Shot four pack just jumped from $5.99 to $6.79. Pretty much ALL local restaurants are at least 10-20% more than pre ‘give away money to not work’ policies. Heck, most importantly, golf which I averaged around $40 a round last year is closer to $50 this year! You can believe what you want. The real world shows me different. Just go to the gas station…

Costco raised the price of their 40-pack of bottled water from $2.99 to $3.19.

Makes me regret my vote for Biden. :(

Your childish simplistic post is typical of Biden (really Democrat) voters. Unable to comprehend that a 7% increase in the cost of a product is significant. Inflation is a pay cut for YOU. But feel free to put your head back in the sand. I also forgot to mention the ridiculous escalation in both new and used cars. And housing. You don’t think landlords will add in a cushion since the government has made it harder to evict for non payment?

WTF
Maybe his source of income takes into account inflation
Many businesses giving a raise look at inflation and makes sure the increase at least covers the higher cost of living.
Haven't your raises over the last 40 years beat inflation?
I have confidence that my investments will more then make up for inflation
Been dealing with this my whole life
I remember gas going up to 60 cents a gallon
Whats it now???????
This is the way it is
Inflation over my lifetime
Yawn
Made more as inflation went up

I get it: you righties need stuff to bitch about to make the world seem crappier than it is now that a Dem is running things.

Now that the Afghanistan story is over, back to inflation.

Why do you even try SooPoo?
This place has like 15 posters per day, 40% of the posts are echo chamber drivel from AMS/RxEd with Rx piling on.
Evidently when your To Do's include cleaning fecal matter off your stick & making sure "Wednesday"s box is empty,
posting here 6-8X per day ends up being a big part of your life.
Let the collection of Sid's Toys continue to talk amongst themselves, the resulting humor is good for the occasional login.
It's kinda like Don Lemon, he is such an idiot you have to watch his train wreck of a show for 5 minutes for the giggles.
Same with DT.

Have you taken DRich up on his bet yet?

Or are you just gonna keep pretending you didn’t make such an incredibly stupid statement? Cause I’m sure we won’t let you forget it. :)

Ed…. Until last 5 years of career I never got a ‘raise’ as you would define it. I was a partner in my private anesthesia group and made more or less depending on patient flow, insurance reimbursements, employee costs, regulatory costs, etc…. Kind of like any business owner. Inflation affects me way less than an ‘average earner’. If I spend an extra $k per year for gas I make no changes in how much I drive, what vacations I take, etc. not so for a guy making $50k a year.

As far as how much I care about Afghanistan, I AGREE with Trump/Biden in getting out. I just know Biden failed miserably on the way he did it. It is so obvious there is BIPARTISAN condemnation of his handling of our exit.

The issue I do care about is the fiasco at the southern border. The number of immigrants getting across has been staggering and overwhelming.

I believe Biden’s ‘spend spend spend’ policies have been and will continue to be inflationary. And are exploding the deficit in unprecedented amounts. Overall I think Biden has done a very poor job on all fronts.

If that abortion legislation in Texas holds, I think it's going to end up helping Democrats at the voting booth. Anyone thinking the Republicans aren't going to actually succeed at banning abortion and considering it a non-issue may start reconsidering their stance.

It is public record, easily found out, which Texas legislators voted for the abortion restrictions. If their constituents feel strongly that these legislators made a mistake, then the voters can vote them out. I’m not holding my breath. Did I read Supreme Court voted 5-4 to uphold Texas’ right to enact that law? I am 100% in favor of abortion rights, but it is quite low down on my list of important issues to decide if I will vote for a candidate.
