Presidential Election 2020 Biden vs. Trump

From what I've heard, some of Trump's picks had already stated they planned to overturn Roe V. Wade. While I believe the vast majority of women do not favor having an abortion, a majority still favors having the option. And men as well for women having the option.

Even the suggestion that Trump is going to favor a nominee overturning RvW should cement more votes from undecideds and even possibly some on the fence Republicans. Since overturning RvW is less favored, it should generate more votes on the democratic side even while it generates a voting block on the opposing side.

The funny thing is if it were reversed the Democrat POTUS and his Democrat Senate would try to ram a new justice thru as fast as possible. We all know they would.

Like Gerrymandering, replacing a Supreme Court Justice means both parties will always act in their own interest.

Gerrymandering is being addressed by new laws. Replacing a Supreme Court Justice has very few legal requirements. The constitution does not even specify how many judges must sit on SCOTUS.

In order to prevent Andrew Johnson from selecting a Justice, Congress simply terminated the chair. Then they did it again when another vacancy came up.

No President has appointed three justices in his first term in over a century. Reagan got to appoint three justices in his second term.

Stephen Breyer is age 82. So if Trump wins again his longest lasting legacy may come from 4 Supreme Court justice appointment.

Clarence Thomas is getting up there as well. It is a cycling thing as Bush43 had the longest time without a SCOTUS vacancy IIRC in history. So if Breyer and Thomas both retired in a 2nd Trump term it would be some legacy to get the court back to what it is supposed to be and away from this "living breathing constitution" thing.
