Delta- could not get through on phone. Was told wait time was SIX HOURS! Could not successfully cancel online originally. Eventually was able to cancel but charged $220 fee out of $350 ticket cost! Sent unhappy email complaint. 4 days later received apologetic reply restoring the $220 to my credit.

It might not have worked this time, but here is a cheat for those that live in places with smaller airports. (i.e.: waste of time at JFK/LGA/ETC)

I had the same kind of wait to change when a hurricane hit. After a call attempt or two the light bulb went off. I was in Rochester and ROC is a smaller airport. So after work I just went there, walked up to the counter, and had the changes made in a few minutes.

Cheat is for any readers who might have this issue now or in the future.

I have actually done that in the past! But no way was I going to an airport now. We have a close friend who works as a bartender at an airport bar. She still goes to work. Not closed as I guess all airport stuff is considered essential. Think of how many people she gets near. No thanks.

After over 1,000 tries, I was finally connected to a claims specialist

She was very nice and assisted me in ensuring that my claim would be finalized

I asked her about the additional $600/week from the Feds and she informed me that NY was still not clear as to how that would be implemented

She then asked me to fax my most recent tax return but then informed me that I would need to write my social security number on every page of the return as all faxes go to a central fax machine and there has been a history of pages being "accidentally" scooped up and processed in the wrong file

I asked if email was available - she replied "Yes" and guided me through the process -- however, the secure message site only allows 1 file per email and it must be 5MB or less

So, after scanning in my tax return, the file size was 17MB -- I had to compress the file down to 4.8MB - however, that made the PDF somewhat blurry

Who knows if they will reject the tax return for being blurry...
Who knows if my claim is really finalized and I will get any assistance
I am hoping for the best but expecting the worst

I think I would fax it as well.

Great minds think alike, but I still threw it out because I've told several very smart people about the trick and get "I wouldn't have thought of that!"

I was told if I fax and email it that it will slow the process down because the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing

I just checked my claim status and, despite "finalizing" my claim yesterday, the website shows it is merely "pending"

I assume something will get screwed up and I will get nothing

I now go to the airport if I am buying tickets on Spirit. It is about $25 less per ticket than buying on the internet.

If I am only buying one ticket I may not go becuase of the inconvenience. But for $50 to $150 it is worth the hassle and the $2 to park my car.

Is this a great country or what? Force closure of American business's, pay workers to stay home, then make illegals legal and pay them to do the work Americans won't do.

Oh, and bitch about illegal immigrants.

It is a program we have needed to stop for a long time. One example of abuse was Disney hiring IT workers, having their old staff train them, and then letting go of people that were perfectly capable of the jobs in order to use cheaper immigrant labor. The program was meant to fill gaps, not to replace jobs already filled.

I hated the abuse of the program before and hate it still. It points to way more than Trump or his son-in-law; it has survived both Democrat and Republican administrations and Congresses for 30 years.

I'd like to see the program shut down for this year and totally reviewed to curt down on abuse before it is ever restarted.

I knew a guy was on it doing just basic office work for a university. Kind of job that would get 100 applicants if you advertised it. But his GF pulled the strings. Nice guy, but he was taking a job from an American.
