Why is there so much angst over Anti-Vaxers?
Your vaccinated, I am vaccinated, if others want to take their chances with the virus, just let them.
It actually is still a free country, people get to make their own health decisions.
Do you scorn people that decide to smoke tobacco?
It's not a smart health decision to start smoking, but people do it.
Live and let live...or let die in this case. It doesn't affect you if your vaccinated.
Move on, the pandemic is over for the smart ones that are vaccinated.
The rest can take their chances and we actually should just let them do that.

Look up herd immunity and the required immunity numbers for a society for COVID-19.....


Same reason we obsess over the measles vaccine and the smallpox vaccine etc.... Because when herd immunity drop outbreaks cam happen (look at the 2019 measles outbreak which was cased by too many parents not vaccinating....)

I suppose it is because the likely harm (the illness / death to them and those they may infect) is so easily preventable: the cost / benefit analysis clearly favors getting vacccinated.

For me personally I am vax vexed because my son, a conservative, refuses to get vaccinated.

Why, Because even with the best vaccines, there are many of us that cannot fully or even partially benefit or even partake: Cancer patients, immune compromised for an assortment of reasons. There are many of them, including my wife: Including many children that can get infected and become infectious. Those folk need to continue with what other defenses they have, which means principally to self isolate. While antivaxers circulate, the virus circulates and prospers, albeit mostly among the fools.

And while it circulates it gets more chances to mutate. We see that already. It's almost inevitable that one or more new strains will evolve which will bypass our existing vaccines. Then we are ALL back in the 5hit.

So. We let the fools take their chances. We know there are many fools and many of those will need hospitalisation, and time off work. Did your countries health system not get stressed to the point where other routine treatments were postponed indefinitely? Antivaxxers will cause more of the same.

Personally, I can go with the 'let them die' approach. But let them die at home, refused treatment. Not a comfortable standpoint, but needs must.
