Meh. 99% of the deaths in WWII were NOT Americans. Americans would not be able to handle if we had a death rate from something big like other nations have had.

You mean like from COVID-19 where we are number 1 both per capita and by raw number deaths?

The US is not even close to the highest number of deaths per capita. Currently at 14th and going lower on the list.

We are number 1 in raw deaths. Number two is India, we have double both cases and deaths of India (and India is tremendously larger than America in terms of population like 4X America.....)

But, that being said I should have rephrased, we are largest per capita of the "developed world". And, we are the largest raw numbers by far....

So you don't include Belgium, Italy, Spain, UK, Peru, Bulgaria ... in the developed world?

Its not me, there are several articles from mainstream sources that phrase it like that.

https://www.emsworld.com/news/1225033/us-has-highest-covid-19-death-rate-developed-world

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-10-12/u-s-trails-other-developed-nations-in-curbing-virus-deaths

Its not for me to say which countries are developed, etc.... But , we have the a lot of deaths. So the phrase "we are the lowest in numerous categories" is completely wrong...... (That is a Trump phrase I am not quoting anyone here, though I am sure some believe it).

Overall our response sucked.
There is absolutely no doubt about that
There are states that still dont require masks
That blows me away

I would say 99% of the deaths in WWII is pretty accurate, it's not just hyperbole.
===================

US and Canada death rates were pretty much the same as Scandinavia, whereas Poland was nearly 17%, Russia was about 13% (20 - 27 million), and China was 15-20 million.

0.39% Canada 43,600 out of 11,267,000
0.35% Norway 10,200 out of 2,945,000
0.32% U. States 419,400 out of 131,028,000
0.17% Iceland 200 out of 118,900
0.16% Denmark 6,000 out of 3,795,000
0.03% Sweden 2,100 out of 6,341,000

But still in terms of US history WWII is second only to the Civil War.

COVID is halfway to the 675,000 American deaths from the 1918 flu pandemic.

We are only #1 because we are incentivizing counting china virus deaths. And the number is nowhere near what China or the USSR had in their history.

And how many times more population today?

When an American hears a number of deaths then never ask "compared to what?"

You really have to stop believing the main stream media. Do your own research Worldometer has had full stats on all countries since Covid started.
