"I will be lowering the flags on all Federal Buildings and National Monuments to half-staff over the next three days in memory of the Americans we have lost to the CoronaVirus. On Monday, the flags will be at half-staff in honor of the men and women in our Military who have made the Ultimate Sacrifice for our Nation." -President Trump

How many have died from the virus in the US, 100000? How is it that nobody in my wife's extended family of about 40 adults knows personally or has heard of somebody that has died from the virus.

55000 died in Vietnam. If you were an adult in the late 60s and early 70s you know one or two military who died. I knew four or five personally, boys that I went to school with or grew up with. Why is it I know of not a single virus death
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Because 100,000 people haven’t died. It’s all just a massive global conspiracy to make Donny look bad.

If we were salmon, the disease would be flushing out the spawners.

Interesting to me also is, in this little city [around [50k], there were 36 approved single family home building permits last month. That seemed like alot considering.

Almost put this in FACE's car thread, but I'm pretty sure if it's difficult to breathe in an N95 mask it's a cost reduction by using a minimal size filter. You should be able to breathe okay even through a dense filter if it's large enough. So, it's probably not large enough.

Reminds me, the last time I had general anesthesia, I wanted to tell the anesthesiologist that taking a breath in his mask felt like it was plugged up. But then I passed from consciousness.

Dirty little secret! When the mask is applied there is a 'pop off valve' that should be fully open. If not, the sensation of fighting to breathe could occur. When we start to breath for you (positive pressure ventilation) the pop off valve needs to be closed, at least partially. Sounds like your anesthesiologist closed it one breath too soon in your case!

No refund.

I’ve been under general anesthesia three times in my life. I have no memory whatsoever of them knocking me out. I can remember being wheeled into the ORs, and that’s about it. I was healthy and under 30 for all three surgeries so I always got the feeling from the anesthesiologists during their pre-surgery questioning of me that I was a walk in the park for them.

I have probably been under general anesthesia 13 or 14 times. I remember most of them pretty well except my one for my back surgery last year. In the OR waiting room they gave me some sort of medication that they said would make me feel like I was drunk. I don't even remember being wheeled in to the OR. I was disappointed because I enjoy looking around and seeing all of the equipment. This surgery used a "Jackson" table and an ExcelsiusGPS robotic guidance system, and I wasn't familiar with it and really wanted to check it out.
