Note: I saw a video on New Zealand's massively strict and enforced social isolation, but one family is restricted to their massive catamaran motor-sailor anchored off the Great Barrier Island. They have the internet, swimming, shop for groceries via emails to a local store that assembles the items and admits its customers one at a time to pack and pay for the order. Four weeks of NZ being entirely under lockdown and it seems like they are on vacation.

The Pro-Life movement is like a lobster trap. Any lobster can climb out but as he reaches the top the other lobsters pull him back in. Pro-lifers want to keep the woman in distress and keep the child in a world where he is resented, so one escapes the trap of despair and regrets.

OK, I'll bite. (I am 100% for abortion rights, by the way) How does someone being against abortion show how little that person cares about people outside the womb?

If you are talking about the religious people who want to express their religion by attending church with other religious people, I can assure you there are examples of going to a church or synagogue in other countries throughout history being a clear risk of death. But people decided that death is worth the risk.

I agree with you that the present day congregants are not playing with a full deck, but I think they do care about actual living beings, just they expect their God to protect them.

The "research" is a study of some men in Sweden (mostly white) and nothing to do with pandemic behavior.

The article literally just cherry picks a random study that men in a white country are more reckless then puts that label on all white men everywhere.

As for why White men conquered the world. There are many reasons, but Asians civilizations were also strong forces. A lot of it had to do with having domesticatable animals (Which Americas and Africa lacked), gunpowder, and blue water sailing. A Nation whose military can cross the ocean, ride off of the ship on horses with guns and steel swords is going to do far better than a nation who is still using wood spears to hunt.

However, to your main point, I don't know if white men distrust experts more or less than others. It would be a hard thing to quantity.

The point is the article was bashing white people for spreading the virus, with no real data to back it up. Simply a racial swipe.

Worldometer shows China with 1290 new deaths today. The last few weeks it has usually been 1 or 2 a day. Wonder where that number comes from. The number of new cases is only 351. Just makes all the data from China even more suspect. They usually get self reported numbers from the 200 plus countries they show everyday.

The Chinese claim they revised the total based upon previously unreported cases.

"Deaths occurring outside hospitals had not been registered previously and some medical institutions had confirmed cases but reported them late or not at all, the official said."

NYC similarly added 3,914 to their total a few days ago.

So about 1/3 of the cases NYC is reporting as Covid-19 deaths (as of the time of the report) could be due to something else entirely. There are, in normal times, about 158 deaths daily in NYC. As surely as some of these cases are due to Covid-19, inflating the numbers does no good accept for those who want to keep the fear level high for whatever reason.

I'd like the scientists to look at how the presumptive causes of death were gathered.

They are trying to figure out a way to save face. If they add some to make their numbers larger, it may help them in the battle of worldwide opinion of them.

If information comes out of China, a place where there is no local or national free press and they seek to send outsiders who try to function as a sort of free press away, there is little that can be believed. They have lied the entire time this virus has been around and the blood of thousands around the world is on their hands. The Wuhan Virus victims, both in China and around the world, deserved better. Anything that killed a lot of people around the world likely killed many, many more Chinese people than have been reported.
