Cuomo finally stopping being hysterical has made it crystal clear we will have tens of thousands of extra ventilators produced. Trump has said we will be sending some to other countries that need them more. nahhh... once ordered I'm sure we will have them made. I mean, its only a billion dollars or so wasted...a rounding error now...

Are they something that can be sort of re purposed and operated at home by homecare nurses or Hospice, or does it necessarily need to be done at a hospital with other dr's at the ready?

This is a few days old now, but this is quite possibly the most racist article I have ever read using unrelated studies from Sweden to bash White people.

It is a trend of using COVID-19 to marginalize White People.

There are many ventilators already in use in nursing homes, which I think are technically called "skilled nursing facilities". Yes, these new ventilators can be used there, but these facilities already presumably had enough, and could buy an extra or two if needed.
For those who do not know, after you have been intubated for a while (2 weeks is approximate) and it appears unlikely you will never be able to live without a ventilator, you get a tracheostomy operation. After it heals, you can be transferred to a lower level of care, meaning not needing an ICU, and eventually even a hospital. You could have a ventilator at home if you could have an aide with occasional nursing or respiratory therapist care.

This has been true forever. It's
a macho thing and certainly
doesn't apply to white men only.

I believe there have been recent changes in the terms Dementia, Parkinsons and Early Parkinsons. I also seem to recall that great strides have been made in ultrasonic treatments and that recruitment of human volunteers is now underway for a drug study that rejuvenated mouse brains.

FDR was elected despite being wheel chair bound (cooperative press reported 'unsteady gait due to prior Polio). JFK was elected despite spinal pains that forced use of a variety of painkillers that certainly dulled the senses.
