However, the commute home was no fun as we were stopped between stations for about 45 minutes at one point At first the conductor announced there was "signal trouble" Then, about 30 minutes later they changed it to "brake trouble" I did not get home until about 10pm and crashed out This morning, I waited for the train for about an hour until they announced that there was "track trouble" without an ETA on when it would be fixed I made the executive decision to work from home today Let's see what happens when the Owner and Protege find out 20 minutes later: Just received a call from both the Owner and Protege and told if I am not in today then don't bother coming back Oh, the Protege said one of the reasons I had to be in immediately was because the client I was supposed to meet tonight at 6pm was unavailable tomorrow... Now, let me explain a little bit of background - on Monday, the Protege told me a brief was due on Friday - fine, I completed the work yesterday and the client was supposed to come in today at 6pm to review and sign When the trains got screwy this morning I emailed the client and asked him to come tomorrow evening instead -- that is when the Protege called and informed me of the above, that the client was unavailable tomorrow I just got into the office now and see an email from the client to the Protege and me stating that he had told the Protege that coming tomorrow was no problem -- lies lies lies from the Protege Apparently, the Protege wanted the brief filed Thursday even though not due until Friday (which is much different than his usual stance of waiting until the day before something is due and then declaring an emergency) The client just emailed again saying he is not prepared for today's meeting and would really like to postpone it until tomorrow |

Simple answer...... See, here is the deal. The protege seems to be holding JJ preflop but you have AK suited. The President is a fink. |

If anybody ever said that to me I'd go in alright, get my stuff and be in their faces in a way they would never forget. The way they totally disrespect you almost daily is mind boggling. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

We call it a "shine trap". Now I'm sad. Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it. |

Golden handcuffs - Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_handcuffs Golden handcuffs, a phrase first recorded in 1976, refers to financial allurements and benefits that have the objective to encourage highly compensated employees to remain within a company or organization instead of moving from company to company (or organization to organization) (opposite of a golden parachute). So they're paying you lots of money so you won't go elsewhere, yet they tell you're fired if you didn't come in today? That makes zero sense. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
