Height is meaningless I come from MD Our Senator was Barbara Mikulski from 1987 to 2017, House 1977 to 1987 Very effective Senator. Could not be bought longest-serving woman in the history of the United States Congress and the longest-serving U.S. Senator in Maryland history. Would not surprise me if she was the shortest Senator in history. 4 feet 11 inches Sometimes we live no particular way but our own - Grateful Dead "Eyes of the World" |

Height SHOULD be meaningless. But over the past two plus centuries our Presidents have all been tall. I think the present voting populace will not care about height. The proof is that a short candidate like Hillary easily won the popular vote. So the majority of Americans overlooked her shortness. Luckily it was concentrated in the solidly Democrat states..... |

Think again. Height means presence, height means authority in a man. Nobody wants a leader who has to stand on a box to look other countries leaders in the eye. In Hwood short leading men have always worn lifts and stood on crates & had special camera angles just for them. Height implies leadership, that's why short men don't do well running for president. And Doomberg 'is really really REALLY short. I have a woman friend in her 60's that talked to a guy on Twitter for while and decided to date him. She was so disappointed. She's 5' 6" and he was 2" shorter than her. She never saw him again and he was a very nice guy. She said candidly that women generally want men to be taller, they fell safer and nobody stares at you. In the Reacher books he's 6' 5", in the movie he's Tom Cruise and is 5' 6". Fans went nuts and panned the movie in their reviews. I enjoyed the movies but had never read the books. Now that I am, I see that Cruise was a silly choice. Reacher's height is huge part of who he is. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Note that all of your examples are before TV. Same as a guy in a wheelchair would not be elected in 1932 if there was TV. Maybe not even today. Height means presence. People appreciate presence even when they cannot articulate why they are appreciating it. The President is a fink. |

I think Bob was responding to me, and I ain’t no lefty! Innoway I am not disagreeing with Bob, and that most presidents have been tall. All I am saying is that it really is a relevant, or at least should be. If the American populace will disqualify someone for being short, well, then it is our loss.I have so many other reasons to disqualify Bloomberg I don’t even see his height! As far as the negative comments about Bloomberg‘s wife, she looks totally fine for a woman most likely in her 70s. He obviously didn’t marry a trophy wife, like trump did. And I really don’t mean that in a negative way towards Melania. She is obviously a very bright woman in her own right. I wish I could speak half as many languages as she does. I am a big fan of Melania. I think she handles her marriage and the attacks on it with class |
