In August 2019, Ben's wife Ashleigh Pogue gave $50,000 to the Trump Victory Committee. In September 2019, Ben made an in-kind air travel contribution of $75,400 to the Trump Victory Committee. Earlier today, President Trump issued a full pardon and clemency to Paul Pogue (Ben's father). There are noticeable similarities between Trump's pardon of Paul Pogue and Bill Clinton's pardon of Marc Rich. Both cases involve corrupt politicians selling pardons for bribes. But there was one big difference between Pogue and Rich: Bill Clinton charges more. Rich's family had to bribe over $1.5 million for the Bill Clinton presidential pardon. Trump is cheaper. He can be bribed for a measly $200,000. |

Very hard to prove and very doubtful. $200K is chump change to Trump, it would have to be far more than that if it was a bribe. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Not exactly. The money doesn’t actually even go to Trump, it goes to trumps campaign for reelection but not directly into his pocket. You would be surprised how little money you have to donate to get some access to a politician. In local elections some of the fundraiser require donations of 30 Dollars. And this get to you in to shake the hand of the politician and chat with them for a while. Obviously, it is logarithmically more if you want access to the top office in the land. But $200,000 does get some notice. Remember for the 200,000, all Trump had to do was sign a piece of paper. And I am not saying there was an actual quid pro quo! |

How naive are you? It's not a coincidence that out of 221,000 federal prisoners in the United States, Trump just happens to pardon a prisoner whose family donated $200,000 to the President's re-election campaign. Stop being such an easy mark. |
