That is exactly the opposite of what I am saying. Does the saying, "men are go enough to be parents, but not good enough to be mothers." make any sense to you? That is what it sounds like you are saying. You make it seem as if priesthood is some position of power rather than a servant to others. You make it seem like being a priest makes you better than being a faithful lay person and that is against the Church's teaching.
It is the same thing. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

Thank you for those good links and I think if you read them they will clarify your problem. Here is a quote from the first one you linked to: "The Vatican clarified during a press conference that, in revising the list of more serious crimes, it did not intend to equate the attempted ordination of women to the priesthood to pedophilia."
Here is a link from a feminist website that should educate you on the truth behind the scourge of pornography. Against Pornography
Didn't you just a few posts back complain that the Church somehow makes women into objects? Get you facts and your thoughts together. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

Dalex you have to realize that if these sites don't mention the Catholic Church it is because they differ on some of the important issues of women's rights. For some reason our society sees abortion as a women's health issue when it is really about men being able to use women without consequences. If abortion hurt men or caused men to have to undergo sometimes dangerous and emotionally scarring surgeries I can guarantee you that it would be banned in all 50 states. Not to mention the killing of innocent children, especially women in the womb. You also mention that the pill has allowed more women to go to college and finish college. That is true. So could changing the laws to provide for women who are pregnant and getting rid of the stigma that goes along with pregnancy or providing better child care in these institutions. Not to mention the encouragement to these women (and men) to wait until marriage or to abstain from sex before they are ready to have a kid. Is the only answer to pump these young women full of hormones, etc. that puts the pill on the same list of cancer causing items as asbestos and tobacco? “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

But in porn, the women WILLINGLY participate in being objects. That's the whole POINT. It's what women do at at strip joints, it's what hookers do. It's what women do when they wear short skirts and tight sweaters. It's what super models and centerfolds do, duh. You really need to eject yourself yourself out of the 12th century and into the 21st. Women LIKE being sex objects sometimes, it makes them feel good. Live with it.. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Are you kidding me??? "Analysis of epidemiologic data from more than 50 studies worldwide by the Collaborative Group on Hormonal Factors in Breast Cancer found that women who were current or recent users of birth control pills had a slightly higher risk of developing breast cancer than women who had never used the pill." You equate a 'slightly higher risk' with asbestos and tobacco? You will do anything, say anything, to push your twisted agenda. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Ok, then "Women are not good enough to be ordained, but they're good enough to be ordained." I fail to see the difference.
Does they saying "Nice non-sequitur" make any sense to you?
Oh, so priests, bishops, cardinals and popes have no say at all in developing, defining and enforcing church policies?
Oh, no. It's definitely a step down. But within the body politic of the church, they are at the top and the lay people are at the bottom. Inner Party/Outer Party. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

That is pretty much what I said. The Catholic church disagrees with most women's rights organizations on what is women's rights. Most women agree with the women's rights organizations that aren't the Catholic church. Therefore, the Catholic church does not represent the voice of women when they speak of women's rights. The Catholic church is interested in promoting and defending the Catholic church's idea of what women should and should not be allowed to do. These woman's rights organizations promote and defend what women want. Should we talk about the Church's historic opposition to a woman's right to vote? http://people.opposingviews.com/catholic-church-womens-suffrage-2388.html https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women_in_Vatican_City "Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not to his own facts." OMG, I read that with my mouth hanging open in disbelief. I was actually starting to buy some of FrG's ramblings about how well treated women are in the Church and how the Church is in the forefront of women's rights. The few that are in Vatican City are treated like second class citizens, they can't vote or get divorced? Until recently a woman couldn't have a bank account? Are you kidding me? If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
