A song I never heard before
A song over 12 years old

Another old song, which is slightly political, but more like a Jewish prayer is Anthem (album released : November 24, 1992)

The birds they sang
at the break of day
Start again
I seem to hear them say
Do not dwell on what
has passed away
or what is yet to be.
Ah the wars they will
be fought again
The holy dove
She will be caught again
bought and sold
and bought again
the dove is never free.

Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack
A crack in everything
That's how the light gets in.

We asked for signs
and the signs were sent:
the birth betrayed
the marriage spent
Yeah the widowhood
of every single government
signs for all to see
I can't run no more
with that lawless crowd
Ah but they've summoned, they've summoned up
a thundercloud
and they're going to hear from me.

Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack
A crack in everything
That's how the light gets in

You can add up the parts
but you won't have the sum
You can strike up the march
on your little broken drum
Every heart, every heart
to love will come
but like a refugee

Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in.
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in
That's how the light gets in
That's how the light gets in

Old business (catching up):

No one will ever touch Mandy Patinkin and Patti LuPone on the Evita soundtrack. That is the music of my past life.

Leonard Cohen was a treasure.

For today, a national day of mourning. This video has haunted me the last couple of days. It is so mesmerizing, so well done, and makes such a strong statement about our common purpose and goals as Americans. We have forgotten, maybe. And I think, in a perfect world, Trump's legacy will be that he woke us from apathy into common purpose defeating the demons he has loosed among us.

This is for GHWB, who, though flawed, controversial, and perhaps average in historical
rankings, represents much of what it means to serve and enrich this country.

The soloist is a soaring joy.

Never doubt a small group of concerned citizens can change the world; it's the only thing ever has

In some ways I think that GHWB, perhaps even more than Jimmy Carter embodies the national vision of the greatest generation.

If it's not brand new, it's probably a cover..

I love this Springsteen cover of the classic Chuck Berry hit C'est La Vie, although he seems to incorrectly title it "You Never Can Tell."

I didn't realize she was blind until I had watched most of the video. Don't think she was born yet when they put out this record.

Hey Terapined, do you remember this all female band from 1972. Music starts at 1:50. I couldn't embed it, so just the link
