Supposedly, (and I haven’t read any of it yet) justice Thomas argued that the 2nd should stop being a second class right and like the 1st amendment. So, in the case one caused a panic yelling “fire in a theater, if you go to jail, you keep your first amendment right, and when you get out of jail you have your 1st amendment right.

Yup, that’s some deep thinking there Thomas. Just hand out guns to criminals and make sure they have one when they get out, regardless of how many people they robbed or shot. Just like the 1st.

Of course, most people probably did go get a gun again around the decades of the framers after they got out of jail. So, give the originalists the stupidity of being an originalist, if that’s what they argue for.

He did say that is the only right that you have to prove to the government that you have a special need to exercise.

That does not seem to say anything about giving guns back; more to the point that the NY law was too restrictive.

He’s just being selective about the way he’s comparing it to the 1’st to make his point appear valid when it isn’t.

Ted Cruz is arguing hardening the schools. Better put an armed person on every school bus. Someone could jump on at one of the stops and shoot all the kids. Better have an armed person watching the outside playgrounds; the person doesn't have to be on school grounds to shoot the kids.
