subscribe to this channel if you like this stuff, they come up with self-defense videos showing real incidents from all over the world

warning: don't subscribe if you don't like seeing victims/perps getting shot

this particular video doesn't have that

PS I like the videos but don't always think the advice is all that good

Here is how safe your personal information is on a government site. California launched their new on line firearms portal last Monday.

"The website was allegedly designed to allow citizens to see how many people had obtained such firearm-related items as concealed carry permits or firearms safety certificates in each county. But instead of posting anonymous county-level data, the website posted the specific private data of everyone who had firearm-related information entrusted to the state. This included the names, addresses, and job titles of 244 judges and 420 reserve law enforcement officials."

Don't worry though this the government employee who mad this 'mistake' will get protected as a whistle blower.

Lefties can go back about their lives again now and continue to tell us to just trust the government.

Where does this biased BS come from?
I've never ever trusted the govt
After the recent Supreme Court decisions

You are in favour of gun control and you 'trust' the government to decide who gets guns or doesn't. You trusted the government to mange Covid properly and embraced their rules and railed against those that didn't show that same trust. The left is the side that always wants to give the government more control over their lives so I would say that everyone on the left by definition trusts the government. It is the right that wants less government.

I don't trust the govt and I doubt anybody else does regardless if they are on the right or left
But
We do need the govt for a civil society
I trust them only to that extent as everybody else does
It's common sense
Nobody wants anarchy
It's individual govt issues that divides us
How the the govt goes about solving an issue is where our differences lie. Not trust.
What's scary to me is a Supreme Court trusting local govts and those local govts are taking our rights away.
It's chilling. Gerrymandering will be strengthened to insure republican power, voting rights stripped away and abortion illegal.

Most of your post is fine but the examples in your last line are all totally partisan.

"The main reason is gerrymandering — redrawing of district lines for partisan benefit. Republicans built on their existing gerrymanders to try to expand their House advantage, but Democrats fired back even more powerfully with gerrymanders of their own." You didn't condemn gerrymandering only Republican gerrymandering.

What you call voter rights are not traditional rights but more relaxed rules that open the process for vote harvesting and voter fraud. It took decades of voting to come up with rules that protect the integrity of elections. You want to throw out many of the most important.

Abortion was not made illegal. The badly crafted earlier ruling was ruled unconstitutional, the states can still do as they please. The federal government now has no position on abortion.

I've been watching self-defense videos on youtube, this is kind of new for me, and sure enough some things that are talked about surprise me.

One repeated theme makes sense, I'm sure it's true this happens after it's explained.  You can completely legally shoot someone in order to defend yourself, and wind up in prison. The police will get called to a scene where someone has been shot, and they may assume that's the victim and you're the perpetrator. What you say and do may be working against you too. And who knows, maybe the prosecution doesn't have much sympathy for self defense by gun owners, especially if this takes place away from your home.

The 911 call you make may work against you. It's the old thing, what you say can and will be used against you. The state you are in isn't going to help, you can easily sound like some hothead who has lost control. At least you called 911, didn't you? What if all you can think about is getting away from there? ... not good.  The advice has been that you need to be there and be the one to call 911, not waiting for someone in the neighborhood to call. You need to be there and establishing to the police that you are the victim, pointing out to the police the evidence. All this without really talking to the police! Motormouth at this point can work against you.

To my surprise, if it's a bad neighborhood, other elements can work against you. It may appear you shot an unarmed person... someone having grabbed his gun laying there. In one video, it was related how the perpetrators [there often being more than one] were the ones calling 911 and setting the scene, they evidently have cleverly realized this is something to do.

There is all kinds of dumb stuff you can say. Apparently to say you 'shoot to kill' as you've been trained is a bad idea [say you shoot to completely remove the threat of harm instead]. Your suppressed bigotry may come out with name-calling. You simply may say something incorrect, like how many shots were fired, making you look like a liar.

That 911 call, yikes!
