I get that; I am well trained. The addition of body armor makes center mass a possible problem.

How so?

Fear of flying, fear of Covid, fear of cancer .... Many people spend all their lives fearful of something that might happen to them. There are billions of humans on the planet one life is just not that important. You are the ultimate racist if you think your own life is more important than that of someone else.

This doesn't mean that you should not look after yourself but keep things in perspective and realize that everyday you are alive you are one day closer to your death.

Death is as much a part of the human journey as life it makes no sense to be afraid of it. Wanting to live does not mean you need to spend your life being afraid to die.

The True Path

Just before Ninakawa passed away the Zen master Ikkyu visited him. "Shall I lead you on?" Ikkyu asked.

Ninakawa replied: "I came here alone and I go alone. What help could you be to me?"

Ikkyu answered: "If you think you really come and go, that is your delusion. Let me show you the path on which there is no coming and no going."

I have no problem with that what ever beliefs you might have as long as you accept death as part of our human condition. If that means that you think death is a door to something else great. Personally I think that death is the end but that is no reason to fear it.

I do not believe in an after life; this is all there is, but I still very much enjoy reading and pondering Zen stories.

No, I am not a devotee of Zen per se but I try to keep Zen precepts in my mind as I wander through life.

It hardly stops there. We have about a third of the population in fear that the oceans are going to boil away or "climate change" will kill them in some other way. I remember an article from years ago when airbags were fairly new. Columnist was taking a cross country trip and was literally afraid to let him ride in the front seat. Even if he was upping the fear for his newspaper article he was fanning fear. How many people do you think are getting fearful they will be shot?

The brain needs a certain amount of risk to function properly. In America today people are so safe that they start to make up thins to be afraid of as part of this function. Which is why you see people in cars alone with masks on.

This country was founded on immigration of new races to replace the old.
