I think cops who get shot and die while having lunch are not heroes. They might have pulled off herioc acts as being a policeman that make them previous heroes, but if, for example, those cops were on the first day of their job, getting shot in the restaurant merely because they were wearing a uniform does not make them heroes.

This also, I believe, answered your question.

So you would prefer that he not have "wasted" his life and just let a person shoot two cops and leave? I surely don't want to live in that kind of world.
+1

A courageous guy risks his life and ends up dying trying to do a good deed, yet someone actually has the audacity to ridicule the guy and blame it all on guns. This is exactly the type of mentality that will end up destroying our society. (And it has already started)

I believe this answers the question.
No, it doesn't.

That doesn't, either.

I'll give you another chance to answer Y/N:

Anyway, do you think that cops who get shot and die in the line of duty aren't heroes?
You seem to be incapable of answering "Yes" or "No. *shrug*

Says who? Gun control zealots?????

No, statistics say that.

Did you even read the article in my initial post? The COPS called him a hero.

So? Does that make him right? What is your opinion? You don't know if that particular cop is a gun right activist or not.

I mean the POTUS makes statements every day: he's clearly the Commander-in-Chief, yet you disagree pretty much with everything he says. Just because an authoritive figure makes a statement doesn't make it so; it only makes it so if you agree with it.

Bad argument. Try again. Use AZ's or Face's line. You'll be more successful.

Quite simply, you are entitled to think he's a hero, and I am entitled to think otherwise. We can both be right.

So? Does that make him right?
Don't try to do another shift. YOU implied that only gun rights activists call him a hero. You were proven wrong.

I'll say "NO". It's their acts previous to their death or in defending their life that defines them to be a hero or not (as I explained twice before). Most cops (rudeboyoi over on WoV would disagree with me) live their lives as an officer and die of natural causes and can be defined as a hero through the actions during their career. The act of getting shot while eating lunch in a restaurant while wearing the uniform does not make them heroes.

Way, way more than started. It "started" about 1963-1965. We are 50 years into the decline. Don Draper in 1960 would not recognize what we have sadly become.

Do you know what the spokesman view on gun control? Note that the quote comes from a police official, not from the Sheriff and the statement states "To me, he was a hero". It's a personal statement. The associate sheriff called his action "heroic" as well.

I'll add to the list: Police officers will call people who are trying to assist perpetrators who are trying to stop a crime in progress heroes as well, despite their possible views on gun control.

Happy?

I'll say "NO".

There were cops who died trying to save people on 9/11, but they failed & the people they tried to save died.

So to you, they're not heroes???? *facepalm*

Seriously, do you live in the real world?
