Have any documentation to go with that 50% failing in 2 years, especially in states with alimony ?
Those were separate issues, IMO. The first on the divorce rate was a wag, didn't know I would be quoted, but here: http://www.thepublicdiscourse.com/2015/12/15983/,

["4. Cohort Measure Rate
This is the “40-50 percent” number that most people cite. It is not a hard, objective number, but an educated projection. It is calculated by looking at a particular “cohort”—a large group of people marrying within a particular measure of time—relative to general life-tables." ]

The second part of my sentence that you quoted , is related to the whole quote. I don't see a significant difference between prostitution and marriages that end with alimony, where a price is set for time spent together.

If you find yourself in a whole, stop digging.

I found a whole once and ate it till
it was a half.

WAG was just that. Almost all states have alimony. 20% of marriages end in divorce within 5 years. Suggest it is less than10% within 2 yrs, not 50 %.

If you are getting married just for sex, YES, you would be better off with hookers.

Most marriages that are less than two years award almost no alimony. Most states graduate the alimony by the amount and time of dependency on the other party.

VEIL something that resembles a veil <a veil of stars>; especially : something that hides or obscures like a veil <lift the veil of secrecy>

Not my fault you have no imagination. There are valid opinions other than yours. Well, not in your mind!

Thank you for reinforcing my point. A veil is not a place, therefore saying "leave a veil" is nonsensical (unless, maybe, you mean leave a veil BEHIND, as in dropping it on the floor).

You just made a mistake. No shame in that. Kind of shameful to try to defend it, though :(

I thought he meant tears in the eyes followed by a time of no tears in the eyes. Not a place at all.

Except for the fact that tears don't "veil" one's vision, only blur it, that might be a reasonable save for buzzard's blunder.

Hey, "vale" isn't a commonly used word any more. It's not surprising that someone would butcher it. There are a lot of words like that that are misused because they're no longer seen very much. I see errors like that all the time, even in national publications.
