Almost 10% had a graduate degree or better.

The last paragraph tells the whole story.
The degree's are meaningless. India has
the worst colleges in the world, they
don't teach you to do anything except
get a degree.

"Millions of job seekers have impressive sounding diplomas but don't actually have the skills promised by their certificates from substandard colleges and technical institutes."
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

And how exactly is this different from half the USA?

Colleges in India are incompetent from the
top down. It's almost impossible to get a
good education in most of them. In US
colleges, you can get an education if you
want one and apply yourself at almost any
college. For instance, my daughter is head
of her dept at a college and she says she
knows a few undedicated teachers there,
but none of them are incompetent.

You're referencing students in the US, more
than the schools they attend.

Between graduation rates and what students study, only about 1/3 are getting value for their dollar.

Family sues Terminix; son unable to walk after fumigation.

Mainly putting this up because of it being my old industry and employer.

This saddens me because it reminds me of all the corner-cutting I saw in my time. Just-get-it-done mentality. Statewide training meetings canceled because we were "having a bad month." More concern about paperwork than the actual training in many cases.

Just needed to rant as over a decade later it seems things don't change, discuss if you all like.

Heck, in foreign countries they don't have classes or even people who can read the labels. People in Thailand die from fumes in hotel rooms that are treated with an exterior only chemical.

some USA homeowners have cement water runoff devices that are installed directing rain water towards the foundation it takes the chemicals with it.

Insecticide is dilute nerve gas, period.

Similar crap happens here. What happens is customer calls, yelling "I WANT SOMEONE HERE **NOW**" so they send someone. Anyone. We were limited in what we could even use because so many people were so wreclkless.

Tennessee lesbian couple faked hate crime and destroyed own home with arson for insurance claim, jury rules

Assuming they do not go to jail for insurance fraud the guy should sue them for defamation. Article does not mention any criminal charges they may be facing.

Disgusting people.
They should go to jail for insurance fraud
They should be sued.

LGBT community has its share of losers and criminals just like any community

Agreed, but will the leaders in the LBGT community condemn or defend them?
Defend outright? Maybe not. Deafening silence? Yes, that I could see. LBGT community has a similar "circle the wagons" mentality

Volkswagen AG dropped the most in almost seven years after it admitted to cheating on U.S. air pollution tests for years, risking billions in potential fines and a backlash from consumers in the world’s second-biggest car market.

The violations, which affect nearly half a million vehicles, could result in as much as $18 billion in fines. Criminal prosecution is also possible.

The German carmaker admitted to fitting its U.S. diesel vehicles with software that turns on full pollution controls only when the car is undergoing official emissions testing, the Environmental Protection Agency said Friday.

Australian girl's travel insurance policy won't pay her medical expenses for her Las Vegas coma due to being intoxicated while crossing the strip at grade level instead of using pedestrian overpass thirty feet away.

well, what did the insurer expect a 20 year girl in Vegas to be at 4:00am....sober?
