Yeah, these guys are making a hell of a lot more than I did at the hotel. Of course, I sometimes worked as few as seventy hours in a week. I had no health insurance, no retirement, very few days of PTO (that I usually didn't get anyway) and often used my own car and gas to do work-related stuff...some of which was barely related to the hotel. In fairness, half of my day was downtime. Although, the hotel owner's son worked at Morgan Stanley and, while he spent a lot of time in the office, my understanding is that much of that was having hours-long poker sessions. They would also wine and dine clients spending long evenings eating and drinking...which I'm sure they are also counting towards time on the job. Summary: Cry me a *%^$%#E^& river.
