The cops fired him. That says something about what they think of his actions.

Weren't we talking here awhile back
about police dept's recruiting average
to lower intelligence men to be cops
because it's such a boring, mundane
job that bright people don't last long.

The illiterate Irish in NYC were the mainstay
of the the police dept for a hundred years,
big and dumb. Lifers.

Maybe the police have one of those training programs, where they respond to videos while holding a gun and they have one that looks like the video of that shooting.

i.e., some guy running away for a few seconds then getting shot in back.

Most of those training video situations are supposed to create ambiguity in a split second, not a guy lumbering away with his back still turned.

Employee of Wal*mart manages to steal an estimated $240k by faking returns and pocketing the money. She stole as much as $8000 in one day after she noticed no one seemed to notice her smaller thefts. That's some sloppy bookkeeping.

I think I would have stopped after about 100K.
But people are soooo greedy, just like sitting
at a slot till it's all gone.

In the end they're all greedy.

What happens is the thief gets used to living higher so needs to keep stealing more and more. Eventually someone notices that so much money is missing that something is wrong. By then they are so used to stealing that they think nothing of it.

In other WMT news, did anyone see the five stores they are closing for "plumbing issues" but they were the same ones with wage protests? WMT is clearly not to be fooled around with!

Ever hear of Mr 880? He was the counterfeiter
in the 30's and 40's who only printed $1 bills.
Took them 10 years to catch him because he
wasn't greedy, never passed more than 50 a
month and never in the same place twice. An
extra $600 a year was enough to supplement
his regular income and keep his head above
water. They even made a movie about the guy.

Printing $1s then would be like printing $10s now. That is the kind of guy I like to hear about. Self control.

If it wasn't for a fluke accident he never
would have been caught. Most crimes
involving money are never solved. They
catch a guy who did 50 crimes and can
only bust him on the one. The rest go
unsolved.

170-year old champagne found on a shipwreck at the bottom of the Baltic Sea actually tasted pretty good
The French bubbly is believed to be the oldest wine ever tasted, and although it was super-sweet, it also exhibited aromas of leather, tobacco and smoke.

French researchers are publishing their chemical analysis of the champagne today in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, five years after 168 intact bottles were discovered by scuba divers off the Finnish coastline in 2010.

Liberal FNC host Bob Beckel missing on air due to painkiller addiction.

From the looks of it he got hooked due to severe back pain. For those who do not remember, this is the exact same reason Limbaugh got hooked. Here is to wondering if liberals will treat Bob the same way they treat Rush.

FWIW, I always found Bob entertaining. He was one of several regulars from the left that FNC had to give their usual balanced coverage. Unlike many on the left, he follows up his views with personal, off-air actions. Hoping he gets well and returns to air as his personality was a nice balance, even if I haven't been able to watch in years.
