Just now getting over some awful back pain. This episode had me worried, but I think now the end of it is in sight. So, I can sympathize with getting hooked. I too now have a new drug LOL: Aleve! Hope you are feeling better. Not my back, but I get kidney pain so likewise sympathize with those who suffer. What those that were on Limbaugh don't realize is this is pain that takes even the best person down. You cannot move about and even lying on a couch is just boom-boom-boom throbbing pain. A hot shower can sometimes give say 20 minutes of semi-relief. Aleve for some reason does work better most times.

Please do blog, we are getting some good personal resources here lately.

Please don't blog lol. I just think a thread is so much easier, and I suspect this one could have legs. All of us are either getting long in the tooth or have treated our bodies very poorly, so I imagine aches and pains are constant struggles with all of us. Whether it's just stories and descriptions or ways to kill/relieve it, I think we all will have a bunch to add.

If you don't make it, I will. Perhaps tonight; I've some work to do first and I really want to hit the crick before the rain comes =p

I'll second it on a thread. We all seem to enjoy the threads of advice/do it yourself. If it gets off-topic we can split it, but either way I would like to know the (legal) remedies people use here.

I don't want to sideline this thread so Face why don't you start one or post in my Curmudgeonly Restraints on Medicine thread.

All I really have to say is that for pain the best thing to do is ... get up and exercise. If for you it means hitting a crick... do it!!

Anybody else getting the new social media buzz about the flag stomper from ATL?

I guess some chick, as some sort of statement against racism in America, took a pic and posted it to Facebook of her and a friend with a foot on an American flag and holding up a fist. And people are going nuts. If you've seen it... am I the only one who is way more bothered by the reaction than the action?

So a chick stomped on the flag in ignorance. BFD. Yes, black men fought for that flag, sure. And yes, racism of a few persons does not indict an entire country. But the responses are maddening. "Leave the country", "don't hire her", "where is she, I'll stomp her neck", and on and on it goes.

It seems the people who are against her are worse than even she. I mean, people are claiming treason. Lol, treason! I saw a dude in BVI who had an American Flag speedo. I've seen then draped over cars. I've seen them displayed with the union on the right. I've seen them displayed folded. I've seen them with a picture, usually an eagle, imprinted over them. And guess what? Each and every one of these examples are just as against federal law as she is by letting the flag touch the ground and disrespecting it.

And really... our soldiers died defending it, right? And what is "it"? "It" is freedom. Freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of persecution. But, just as much, and maybe more importantly, it is freedom to do things even if you personally don't f$%^ing like it. You can dislike her actions all day long, but you should love the hell out of the fact that she can do that and still keep her head.

That's what freedom is. Freedom to work, freedom to play. Freedom to pursue your dreams, to pursue happiness. Freedom to lead people to greatness, and, yes, freedom to be a c$%^ if you so choose.

Deal with it. Rant over.

Seen it, not letting it bother me. She wants to make a jerk out of herself, let her. Anyone else does, let them. This kind of nonsense got them nowhere in the 1960s and it will get them nowhere today. Not upset about the "reaction" either. Is it affecting my life? No. My current concerns are my client getting another unit for us to work, building a ramp this weekend, my garden, my bees, and deciding what other skills to conquer this summer.

What's ATL?
