Theft rings don't care too much if there is a data logger on the car, they just don't want there to be any burst transmission of that data and its usually a week before a high end car is on its way out of the country, so that would have to mean a pretty good battery. |

On Wednesday, the New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control raided 29 New Jersey bars and restaurants as part of Operation Swill, a year-long sting operation that caught these establishments allegedly pouring bottom-shelf liquor into top-shelf bottles and selling it to customers as the real deal. Sometimes, the fraud was a bit more blatant. "In one instance, a bar in New Jersey mixed rubbing alcohol with caramel food coloring and served it as scotch," writes Brent Johnson in the Star-Ledger. "In another, a bar filled an empty liquor bottle with dirty water and passed it off as liquor." Thirteen of the 29 establishments caught up in Operation Swill were TGI Fridays restaurants operated by a New Jersey hospitality company. The Star-Ledger reports that TGI Fridays "is looking into the matter." |

That is probably too harsh a statement. How about do not order drinks at locations operated by that company. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a deterrent. |

Alot of scared whiskey moved through New Jersey also. No tax at all: buy it, pour it, throw out the bottles that night. Occasionally NY newspapers pour a Bloody Mary into a flask and have its alcohol content analyzed for a bunch of trendy watering holes. There was always this one bar that had a result of zero booze and always the same excuse "must be a mistake". |

I visited my first TGI Fridays in the 1970s. They charged me $5 for a mixed drink, which I thought was outrageously expensive. At least twice what I usually paid. I didn't go back for a long time. "Trumpsplain (def.) explaining absolute nonsense said by TRUMP. |
