I think golf compares favorably to other leisure activities. A fraction of a day at Disneyworld. Less than a ticket to a Bills game. I feel I can go up to $60 and not feel I'm being ripped off. This February went to San Juan, PR. Did play one round on a 'resort course' and 'only' paid $150 because we had some discount. Sister course was $300. Didn't play that one. Did find 2 public courses in the $40 range. I think if you lived in PR the public courses were even cheaper.
I'm playing later today.... looking at weather forecast last time for quite a while....

Where I live, golf is cheap, real cheap
I literally have about 100 courses within an hours driving distance
I average around 30.00 a round
Sometimes I just pay 20. tops for me is 40.00. Anything more expensive and I don't consider the course. Very happy with the quality of the courses I play.
Golf is a cheap bargain in my book

My drives have approved a lot, getting some length, but many still go right. sigh
Doing great with the 3 Iron after a drive. Pretty straight and long but not real long
Hitting the green tough. Usually too short or too long when about 75 yards away
I don't seem to chip as well as I used too. Sometimes hit the ball too hard and end up on other side of the green
My putting has improved a lot. I think its my new putter and because its new, taking more time to putt

Me and my golf buddy never keep score. Just fun playing. Always have jam band music playing in the cart

For the first time, Asian giant hornets have been spotted in the United States, specifically in Washington state, scientists say. Beekeepers have reported piles of dead bees with their heads ripped off, an alarming sight in a country with a rapidly declining bee population.

At more than two inches long, they're the world's largest hornets with a sting that can kill humans if bitten multiple times, according to experts at the Washington State University. Researches have nicknamed them "murder hornets."

"They're like something out of a monster cartoon with this huge yellow-orange face," Susan Cobey, a bee breeder at the Washington State University's department of entomology, said recently.

I had to think about a 2 inch bee. Yeah, that's a big ass bee.

I started playing in the late 60's.
Stopped in the mid 80's. It was
fun when you could go there
mid week with a cold 12 pack
and rent a cart with a buddy
and see just a few people on
the course. Then it started to
get crowded and expensive.
Screw that.

I hated the Calif courses. Usually
dried up brown fairways. no water to
play over and around, short sparse
tree's. In MI every course is like
a manicured park. Rolling hills,
tons of woods and tree's, water
everywhere.

Wow
I never ever get up early for golf
Typically a 1pm tee time for me. Cheaper
I was just at a course Fri.
It was packed. Even the range was packed
Golf courses in FL these days making good money as long as they have the carts since its one per cart

Playing in Las Vegas is a little different than other places. In the summer it will be 90 degrees at 6am and 105 by 11am. We prefer the 90 degrees. This morning it was a pleasant 75 degrees at 6:30am.

Of course libbies won't even acknowledge this. If you tell them, they will just pretend like you didn't even say it. The intellectual dishonesty is astounding. 🙄

No contest. In FL you've sweated thru
your clothes in 5min and you can't
breathe because of the humidity.
It's hot in Vegas but dry, you can
breathe and not sweat to death.

If you and a bunch of your “open up now” brothers want to go huddle together in a big field I would see no problem with that. Teach us libbies a lesson, show us how wrong we are!

They both suck for golf, and that is why we tend to book the first tee time available. I am always up by 5:30am anyway so I don't mind golfing then. Plus, you still have most of the day available for other activities that the wife plans for you.

I've heard people say, modern vegas is more humid than old vegas due the introduction of more water/scenic, usage, and so forth.

Was about 15 years ago they started encouraging natural desert landscaping over turning it into suburban greenery.

I sure did think the weather on the Strip was fine over a 100 degrees when I was wearing a long sleeve shirt in the 90s on my first visit.
