I'm not ready to say that the forecasters* were laughably wrong about the Atlantic hurricane season just yet, but I will say the peak of the season, mid-September, is forming up to be a flop. Another yellow X disappeared now**, and the only one left is for what might happen with a system crossing the Yucatan. Yep, fat lady hasn't sung yet, that goes for September too

Does it mean Climate Change due to humans is disproved? Nope, but I do think the Epithet-Flinging Panic Advocates do deserve tit for tat ... you know what they'd be doing if it was even just a normal season so far

Did you know America is Disappearing? I was watching the Weather Channel and the EFPAs there were claiming so. They had some similar title for a segment about sea rise. Worst of all, they were showing videos of the coast crashing into the sea as they were going on about sea rise, with no attempt at explaining where and what the videos were about. The WC is just totally and disgustingly all-in for cooperating with the EFPAs ... but you knew that

* NOAA's was " 85% chance of an above-normal season"

I have been reading that the Saharan sand storms are helping to suppress some of the weather.

Interesting fact: No hurricane has ever crossed the equator.

Francine hitting Louisiana
It was just a tropical storm
Seemed like a blink of an eye and it went to Cat 2
Incredible. Is this the quickest spurt ever from tropical to cat 2. Seems like it

Cat 2 was predicted

are you living under a rock? We aren't seeing the forecast come true of an above average hurricane season at all. At this point no one can be sure that we won't be seeing a lot more, that it was just a slow start, but anyone can see the chances of the season predicted have sure dropped what with the peak season supposed to be now

It's just not working for Climate Change Panic Advocates to be pointing to, Ed excepted

news for panic advocates to get excited about?

"Hurricane Gordon forms in the Atlantic!"

uh oh though,

"Gordon is forecast to continue to weaken and become a depression on Sunday. " emph mine

but take heart, Ed!

"Gradual re-strengthening is possible"

https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/refresh/MIATCPAT2+shtml/141443.shtml?

pretty lame for peak season

You look at the small picture, half a season . Meaningless
I look at the big picture of the last decade. Meaningful

Gordon is now downgraded to a 'depression' only and is headed northward East of Bermuda even

there is nothing else in the Atlantic now

we might still get a respectable number of hurricanes, and some could be devastating if they hit, but the fat lady is really singing now for the end of the *forecast* that was given, " 85% chance of an above-normal season"

only Ed can't hear her

where i live we've had an unusually cool August and September. An August to remember for sure, Hawaii couldn't have beat it!

Summer ends in 4 days

yeah, it's just weather ... also, cool weather in the East seems to mean record heat in the West.

But it's tit for tat to point it out, because I know who would be crowing about it if the opposite were true

It has been disappointing here in Florida. Not even a single weather issue to get excited about.

Some places bury their pipelines with a shut off valve. Then there is Texas where they put the pipeline next to a Walmart parking lot and wait for somebody to crash into it before installing a shut off valve
