I think most good shows last about two seasons too long..

Except Seinfeld, his show never got
the chance to jump the shark. NBC
was offering him huge amounts
do one more season, but Jerry
knew they were running out of
material and he pulled the plug.

Because Seinfeld was the star, writer,
and executive producer, he's worth
3/4 of a billion now from syndication.
And he's got that F U attitude where
he knows he can do or not do any damn
thing he wants.

Looks like the studio was trying to get two more seasons, and Jim Parsons said "nope, I'm done."

What is the upside for Jim Parsons to do two more years? The studio obviously can't pay him any more money than he is already making, and he almost certainly can make as much or more than $23 million per year from producing and narrating Young Sheldon, broadway shows, commercials and movies.

He can't develop the character any more than he already has done in the past 12 years.

They could "Charlie Sheen" him and kill him in a particle accelerator.

I thought Seinfeld was not as funny after Larry David left. The last season I could completely live without.

I respect him for leaving. He knows the show is way past its peak and he has all kinds of other opportunities. I predict he will focus on theater after the BBT is over. I'd be happy to see anything he was in.

I thought half the episodes in any
of the seasons I could do without.
It was the really good ones we were
waiting for. Soup Nazi, The Marine
Biologist, The Puffy Shirt, Bizzarro
Jerry, The Chicken Roaster, The
Hamptons, The Parking Garage,
The Chinese Restaurant, The Subway,
and of course, The Contest.

I expect you are correct about Broadway, but he is playing Ted Bundy's prosecutor in upcoming "Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile "

He was in a movie in June called "A Kid Like Jake" which was only released in 13 theaters, and I didn't see "Hidden Figures" or the horror film "Visions".

But most comedians make excellent dramatic actors.

"Most comedians make good actors,
but good actors never make good
comedians." Jerry Seinfeld

He means they can be in comedy
movies, but could never do a
comedy act on their own. He says
you can teach a comedian to
act, but comedy cannot be taught
to anybody. You are born with
it or you're not.

Except Robert DeNiro. Oscar winning dramatic actor, who made much more money on the "Fockers" movies than he ever made before. And now he's just dialing it in; cash for not even trying.
